LoL European Championship 2021 Summer Betting Preview for Saturday, June 26 Matches

Schalke 04 Vs Misfits

  • When: Saturday, June 26 – 17:00 CEST

The improvement Misfits Gaming have been showing this split is remarkable, to say the least. This team has struggled with synergy and decision-making throughout the LEC 2021 Spring but have seemingly found a way to fix that.

The talent is there, synergy is as good as it can get, and for whatever reason, Misfits Gaming now seem like a far more patient team, which is obviously a huge change to the Misfits of LEC 2021 Spring.

Schalke 04 are holding on as a mid-table team, but they have yet to show any upside. They’re good, but not great, and that about sums up what we think of this team. Outside of their upset win against G2 Esports (who they historically do well against), Schalke 04 have yet to show anything spectacular.

They even lost to Excel and struggled to keep up with MAD Lions last week, which should make you concerned about how well Schalke 04 will do against an arguably stronger side.

Misfits are priced at around -165 on most eSports bookmakers, which is a good price to pay. There is definitely a world where the favorites slip, but with how consistent Misfits have been so far, we don’t have a reason to doubt their ability to deliver on Saturday.

Prediction: Misfits Gaming to win

Rogue Vs Astralis

  • When: Saturday, June 26 – 19:00 CEST

Rogue are not playing nearly as good as you would expect from the LEC 2021 Spring finalists, and that’s a problem. They aren’t as consistent, and while it’s hard to say what exactly is stopping them from reaching their spring form, it’s rather obvious that something isn’t clicking.

Astralis are by no means a team that will compete for the title this split, but they have been playing significantly better than expected. Some may say that they have been overperforming, and that’s a fair assessment; however, as long as they can continue overperforming, we can’t complain.

Some of Astralis’ (and other LEC underdogs’) success this term can be attributed to the volatile meta. Most underdog teams across all major regions have been playing much better than how they should have, which really comes down to the fact that there are way too many overpowered champions to choose from.

If a team picks up Gwen, Viego, and Akali, they’re in a very good position to win, regardless of how strong their opponents are. Although we expect Rogue to be aware of that and that they’ll do everything they can to prevent Astralis from getting their hands on power picks, that might not be enough.

Astralis know that they’re one of the weakest teams in the league, and they don’t seem to care too much about it. They’re here to cause as much chaos as possible, which they achieve with unusual picks that often catch their opponents off guard.

Will Astralis’ unpredictable approach be enough to derail Rogue is anyone’s guess, but with the way they’ve been playing and the lack of consistency Rogue have been showing, you have to have a very good reason not to pick Astralis with a +9.5 kill handicap.

A smaller position on Astralis to win (at around +300) is definitely worth a shot as well.

Prediction: Astralis +9.5 kills
