Betting WNBA Week 7 Top Matches

It’s something of a strange week in the WNBA, as we have a couple of dark days on the schedule this week.

Even though there are a couple of days with no games, there are still some good matchups to look forward to over the next few days.

We have something of logjam going at the top of the standings, with the top 3 teams separated by just a single game.

There is a similar situation going on down by the playoff cut line, with several teams all jockeying for position.

With that in mind, most of the games have some level of importance, but let’s take a look at the 4 that are the best this week.

Minnesota Lynx at New York Liberty

Tuesday, June 25th, 2024

We have a pair of teams in the top 3 going head-to-head in this one, with the Lynx heading to the Big Apple to face a Liberty team that is leading the way right now.

The Lynx won the earlier meeting with the Liberty this season in rather comfortable fashion, but it is worth noting that they were at home for that one.

The Lynx are hot right now and are on a 6-game win streak.

The Liberty have won 3 in a row and 9 of their last 10, but perhaps more importantly, they are an impressive 8-1 at home.

Las Vegas Aces at Chicago Sky

Thursday, June 27th, 2024

The Aces are sitting in the middle of the pack right now, 5 games out of the top spot in the league.

They have been a little up and down of late, going 5-5 in their last 10 games, but they are coming into the new week having won 2 in a row.

The Aces are 2 ½ games up on the Sky, who are clinging to the final playoff spot.

The Aces have played 5 road games to this point in the season and have a 3-2 record, while the Sky have struggled at home, going 3-5.

This is the first meeting between these two teams this season/

Indiana Fever at Seattle Storm

Thursday, June 27th, 2024

There has been a definite uptick in interest in the WNBA this season, much of which comes from Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever.

They are in a dogfight for a playoff spot right now, but they are currently sitting just off the pace, a half game out of the #8 spot.

The Fever have won 6 of their last 10 but are just 3-7 on the road.

The Storm are sitting in the #4 spot right now, 4 games out of the top spot.

They are on a good run of form, winning 7 of their last 10 games, while going 5-1 in home games.

The Storm have won both games against Indiana this season.

Atlanta Dream at Connecticut Sun

Friday, June 28th, 2024

At first glance, this appears to be a very winnable game for the Sun, who had a comfortable win over Atlanta in their earlier meeting this season.

That said, Connecticut comes into this week having lost 2 in a row, which means that they are now 1 game out of the top spot.

Still, they have won 7 of their last 10 games and are an impressive 8-1 in their own building.

The Dream are down in the #7 spot and on the slide, losing each of their last 3 games and winning just 3 times in their last 10 games.

WNBA: Week 7 | June 13-18, 2023

Tuesday: Mystics vs Fever

On Tuesday, the Washington Mystics will look for their third straight win as they take on the Indiana Fever. Washington is at 5-3 for the season after sweeping a weekend series with the Seattle Storm in the Pacific Northwest, and will play on the road once again here. But this game could be much harder on the Mystics, as they get set to face one of the most exciting young duos in the league in Indiana.

First overall pick in the last WNBA Draft, Aliyah Boston has brought instant credibility to a Fever roster that lost 18 straight games to finish the 2022 season. Combined with the incredibly versatile NaLyssa Smith, Boston and the Fever have taken several elite teams in the league to their limit already this year. They could very well do the same against a road-weary Mystics team on Tuesday night.

Wednesday: Sparks vs Wings

Both the LA Sparks and Dallas Wings are at .500 or better heading into their Wednesday night matchup in Arlington. In that game, the Wings will come in as a favorite as they are 4-0 at home, while the Sparks are 1-3 on the road. But this game could still go either way, as both teams have players who could help separate their team from their opponent.

On the Los Angeles side, Lexie Brown has deserved a ton of credit for reinvigorating the Sparks from the guard positions, averaging over 14 points per game thus far. Meanwhile, the Wings may have the best group of bigs from top to bottom in the league, as Satou Sabally, Natasha Howard, and Kalani Brown would give their team a significant edge against the undersized Sparks.

Sunday: Mercury vs Liberty

On Sunday afternoon, the Phoenix Mercury and the New York Liberty will face off in a nationally televised matchup from Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Phoenix got their first road win of the year back on Sunday, when they erased a double-digit deficit to beat the Indiana Fever. But it will take a much better performance from the Mercury if they are going to knock off a Liberty team that is 6-2 on the year.

The question going into this game is whether or not the Mercury can summon enough defense to compete with New York. Phoenix is allowing 86.4 points per game, the worst mark in the WNBA coming into this week. That could spell disaster against a Liberty team that has so many ways to score, thanks to the presence of all-stars like Jonquel Jones, Sabrina Ionescu, and Breanna Stewart.
