3-time winner Trilogy will be the favorite

Trilogy won the very first Big3 Basketball Tournament. Power won in 2018 and Triplets won in 2019.

Trilogy then picked up their second Big3 trophy in 2021 and repeated as champions in 2022. The team appears set for another Big 3 Basketball Tournament title run. Check out Trilogy’s roster.

Trilogy: Stephen Jackson (Coach)

  • James White (Captain)
  • Earl Clark (Co-Captain)
  • Amir Johnson (Co-Captain)
  • Isaiah Briscoe
  • David Hawkins

Aliens or 3-Headed Monsters will be the second choice

Aliens and 3-Headed Monsters, one of the favorites in 2022, should fight for second-choice status. Both teams are solid.

3-Headed Monsters coach Reggie Theus added former Memphis University player Robert Dozier to a roster that includes Rashard Lewis, Reggie Evans, Kevin Murphy and Jordan Adams.

The 3-Headed Monsters drafted Dozier last in the first round, which tells us what we must know about how this team performed last season. If Trilogy isn’t the chalk, there’s a good chance 3-Headed Monsters is.

Aliens drafted professional Latvian basketball player Jannis Timma. Timma is part of a squad that includes second round pick Alonzo Gee, Dusan Bulut, Kostja Mushidi, and Tomislav Ivosev.

Former Detroit Pistons great Rick Mahorn coaches Aliens. Mahorn is definitely thinking that the European style of hoops will aid Aliens in their quest for a Big3 Basketball title.

Coach Rick Barry and Ball Hogs are hoping for a turnaround this season

Rick Barry and Ball Hogs got the first pick in Round 1 and the first pick in Round 2. Dajuan Summers went with the very first pick at this year’s Big3 Basketball Draft.

Summers played at Georgetown. Jaylen Johnson went with the second pick. Johnson played at Louisville.

Barry hopes both will help Ball Hogs turn it around this season. Captain Leandro Barbosa, and co-captains Jodie Meeks and Jeff Ayres are also on the Ball Hogs’ roster.

Johnson and Summers are both tall power forwards with ball handling skills. So if the odds on Ball Hogs to win the Big3 title are decent, if the Hogs are an overlay, consider for sure.
