Big 3 Basketball Week 3 Preview

Friday, July 6

3’s Company vs Trilogy

In Week 2, 3’s Company lost 44 to 50 to Power. Baron Davis went off for 27 points, but it wasn’t enough. Without Davis’ production, 3’s Company might have lost by more than just 6 points. That’s not a good or bad thing because Power is a tough team.

The loss in no way should affect how 3’s Company plays against Trilogy on Friday. Trilogy is 0 and 2 in this year’s Big 3 Basketball League. 3 Headed Monsters dominated Trilogy by 16 points, 50 to 34, in Week 2.

It’s tough to see Trilogy hanging with 3’s Company on Friday no matter the spread.

Big 3 Basketball Week 3 Pick: 3’s Company

Ball Hogs vs Ghost Ballers

Both Ball Hogs and Ghost Ballers are 0 and 2 heading into their Week 3 battle. Ball Hogs hasn’t gotten on track at all this season. They lost 32 to 51 to Power in Week 1. In Week 2, Tri-State beat them 51 to 34.

Ghost Ballers have played better basketball than Ball Hogs. Still, the loss to Killer 3’s in Week 2 was somewhat disappointing because Killer 3’s is a more defensive team than offensive team. The 3’s held Ghost Ballers to 19 points in the first quarter.

I think Ball Hogs can pull off the upset.

Big 3 Basketball Week 3 Pick: Ball Hogs

Tri-State vs Power

Is Tri State a safe bet this week in Bog 3 Basketball?

Undefeated Tri-State battles undefeated Power in the best matchup in Big 3 Basketball Week 3. Tri-State thrashed Ball Hogs 51 to 34 in Week 2. Power had a more difficult time versus 3’s Company in their 50 to 44 win.

The thing that we must respect about Power his how they spread the ball around. In the win over 3’s Company, three of Power’s players scored in double-figures:  Glen Davis with 14, Corey Maggette with 16 and Cuttino Mobley with 18. Davis dished 4 boards, Maggette grabbed 8, and Mobley grabbed 7.

Power’s ability to lean on different players means that they will win and cover versus talented Tri-State on Friday.

3 Headed Monsters vs Killer 3’s

Undefeated 3-Headed Monsters dominated Trilogy in Week 2. Now, they battle the Killer 3’s, surprise Week 2 winners over Ghost Ballers. Killer 3’s looked good in Week 2, but it’s difficult to see them hanging with 3 Headed Monsters.

3HM got production from Rashard Lewis, Qyntel Woods, and Reggie Evans in the big win over Trilogy. That trifecta should handle Killer 3’s on Friday.
