Top Boxing Matches to Bet On: PBC Christmas Night Special

Only 3 fights happen on Saturday, Dec. 25. But although the pugilist action on Christmas Day is light, all three fights should be entertaining events. Kareem Martin takes on Kenneth Sims Jr. a slight dog, Nick Delomba battles Vito Mielnicki Jr. a big underdog, and Limberth Ponce is looking for a Christmas miracle against Joey Spencer. Check out Boxing odds, an analysis, and free picks for each of this Saturday’s boxing events.

Kareem Martin +325 vs Kenneth Sims Jr. -450 | Super Lightweights – 8 Rounds

16-2-1 with 5 knockout victories, Kenneth Sims Jr. hasn’t lost since 2018 when Samuel Teah beat him via unanimous decision. This past May, Sims Jr. won the World Boxing Council United States Super Lightweight Title this past May by beating then undefeated Elvis Rodriguez Jr.

Rodriguez Jr. had walked into the ring with an 11-0-1 record. Elvis is a good boxer. In fact after losing to Sims, he came back and knocked out 14-0 Juan Pablo Romero.

Sims obviously is at the top of his game. Kareem Martin is no slouch, though. Martin has a decent 14-2-1 record and hasn’t lost since 2017. In his last bout, Martin won a majority decision over Petros Ananyan.

Martin can bang. His aggressiveness gives him a big shot to pull off the upset.

Boxing Odds: Kareem Martin

Joey Spencer -4000 vs Limberth Ponce +12500 | Middleweight – 8 Rounds

13-0 Joey Spencer has won 9 of his fights via technical knockout or knockout. Spencer is one of the top up and coming boxers in the United States. In his last bout, he won an 8-round unanimous decision victory over James Martin.

Spencer’s opponent on Saturday night is 18-4 with 11 knockout wins. Ponce is a decent boxer. But he’s more of a paycheck type fighter, meaning he doesn’t have the ambition of winning a title. Case in point? Ponce has already signed on to fight twice after his bout with Spencer.

Ponce will fight in February and then in May. Win or lose, Ponce will step into the ring, which tells us he’s a career boxer who believes his job is to entertain fans. If he wins, great. But he won’t change his boxing schedule, 4 to 6 times a year, even if he loses.

That makes Spencer the pick. Instead of accepting the low moneyline odds, though, look for a prop bet with a better payout.

Boxing Odds: Joey Spencer

Nick DeLomba +1000 vs Vito Mielnicki Jr. -2000 | Welterweight – 10 Rounds

16-3 Nick DeLomba has just 5 knockout wins. The good news for DeLomba and his backers is that his last two victories ended in TKOs. DeLomba has discovered he has some power.

But in his last fight, Richard Hitchens beat DeLomba via unanimous decision. DeLomba faces a tough customer in 9-1 Vito Mielnicki Jr. Mielnicki’s lone loss happened versus well-regarded James Martin.

DeLomba’s biggest problem in this bout will be dealing with Mielnicki’s power. 6 of the chalk’s victories have come via technical knockout or knockout. Unless DeLomba stays to the outside, and even then, he will find it difficult to keep Mielnicki from landing at least a few power shots. The favorite needs just one power shot to land cleanly to end DeLomba’s night.

Boxing Odds: Vito Mielnicki Jr.
