- Cesar Juarez +485 / Jordan Gill -750
Mexican fighter Mauricio Lara knocked out then undefeated British boxer Josh Warrington last Saturday. Can Lara’s countryman Cesar Jaurez pull off a similar feat against Jordan Gill? Jaurez has 25 wins from 19 knockouts. But he heads into the ring after 2 straight losses. Gill, like most UK fighters has a sparking record. He’s 25-1. Ah, but he’s got just 7 knockouts from those 25 fights. Also, his lone loss happened via KO. Juarez has power. He can pull off the upset.
Boxing Pick: Cesar Juarez
- Gabriel Gollaz Venezuela +375 / Robbie Davies Jr. -550
26-year-old Gabriel Gollaz Venezuela’s last loss was all the way back in 2017. Although GGV has fought almost exclusively in Mexico, he’s taken on some tough dudes. Valenzuela’s 22-2-1 record with 13 knockouts should make Robbie Davies pause and consider whether he wants to go through with this fight. The favorite is 31-years-old and hasn’t fought since last March. It’s worth taking a shot on the younger, more active boxer.
Boxing Pick: Gabriel Gollaz Venezuela
- David Avanesyan +125 / Josh Kelly -155
Avanesyan steps up in class to take on 10-0-1 Josh Kelly. The underdog’s last loss happened in 2018 to talented fighter Egidijus Kavaliauskas. Since then, Avanesyan has taken apart three Spanish opponents. British boxers are usually more skilled than Spanish boxers. Even though Kelly hasn’t fought anyone of note, he has knocked out 6 of his opponents. That’s rare for a UK fighter and the reason he should win this bout.
Boxing Pick: Josh Kelly
- Florian Marku -160 / Ryan Charlton +130
Marku is 7-0-1 with 5 knockouts. Charlton is 6-0-1 with 3 knockouts. Neither fighter has much of an edge over his opponent, which means Charlton gets the nod. Whenever we’re faced with two boxers with almost identical records and with no advantages for either, we back the boxer offering the better odds.
Boxing Pick: Ryan Charlton
- Dominic Brezeale +195 / Otto Wallin -260
Brezeale versus Wallin is a big fight. Dominic “Trouble” Brezeale has a 20-2 record with 18 knockouts. Otto Wallin is 21-1 with 14 knockouts. The 31-year-old, that’s Wallin is favored. Deontay Wilder knocked out Brezeale in his last fight. Rebound bouts don’t always work out. But Brezeale is a decent boxer. He’ll get the call.
Boxing Pick: Dominic Brezeale
- Robert Easter Jr. -600 / Ryan Martin +400
At one time, Easter Jr. was one of the most highly-regarded boxers on the planet. Now 30-years-old, this is Robert’s first fight since 2019. He faces a tough fighter in Ryan Martin. The underdog is 24-1 with 14 knockouts. Martin’s record looks impressive. His resume isn’t. Ryan hasn’t come close to facing a boxer as classy as Easter Jr. REJ gets it done.
Boxing Pick: Robert Easter Jr.
- Adrien Broner -800 / Jovanie Santiago +450
This is either Adrien Broner’s come back bout or his swan song. Broner hasn’t fought since 2019. Manny Pacquiao beat him in that bout. He drew against Jesse Vargas in the fight before and Mikey Garcia beat him in the fight before that. Jovanie Santiago is 14-0 with a draw and 10 knockouts. All of Santiago’s fights have happened in Puerto Rico, which explains why Broner is such a big favorite. Santiago has a shot, but the guess here is that Adrien’s manager handpicked Jovanie.
Boxing Pick: Adrien Broner
- Miguel Berchelt -280 / Oscar Valdez +210
The champ, that’s Berchelt, has a stunning 37-1 with 33 knockouts record. Most consider Miguel one of the best pound-for-pound boxers in the world. The loss happened so long ago, in 2014, there’s no reason discussing it.
Oscar Valdez is 28-0 with 22 knockouts. Valdez has a chance to pull off the upset. But Berchelt has a 5-inch reach advantage. Plus, as good as Oscar is, he hasn’t come close to taking on a boxer like Miguel Berchelt. We mean, not even close. We’re backing the champ.
Boxing Pick: Miguel Berchelt
