Boxing Lines – Mayweather Vs Paul Highlights January and February Action
Caleb Plant fights on January 30
On MyBookie, Plant is a -5000 choice to beat the overmatched Caleb Traux. The odds make sense to us because in the battle of the Caleb’s, Plant has the much better record.
The IBF Super Middleweight Champion is 20-0 with 12 knockouts. Although Traux has a decent record, 34-4-2 with 19 knockouts, he is 37-years-old compared to the 28-year-old Plant.
MyBookie should have other fights for us to check out on the undercard. Those figure to offer better options than backing Plant at -5000.
Josh Warrington defends his title in the UK on February 13
Warrington is also a massive favorite. Josh is at -1600 in his February 13 bout against Mauricio Lara.
The Leeds Warrior is 30-0. But unlike Caleb Plant in his bout, Warrington is no lock. Lara has a 21-2 record with 14 knockouts. He has never fought in the U.S. Usually, that’s a bad sign, but before we write off Mauricio, it’s important to note that he’s trained in the Mexican school of boxing.
What is that school? Boxers from Mexico are taught to fight inside. They often have good defense, go to the body, and fight in close quarters. It’s a style born from boxers like Julio Cesar Chavez.
We’ve got time to handicap the fight. No rush on this one. Keep it in the back of your mind, though, that Lara could give Warrington a tough fight.
Mayweather Jr. versus Logan Paul could be more competitive than people think
When Floyd takes on Logan Paul on February 20, most feel Mayweather Jr. should dominate. Money was born in 1977, though. Logan Paul was born in 1995.
The age difference means something. So do physical advantages. Paul is 6’ 2” and has a 76” inch reach. He will outweigh Floyd on the night of the fight by 40 to 50 pounds.
Yes, Mayweather Jr. should win, but before dumping on Floyd, make sure to handicap this like a regular boxing match. Don’t worry, we’ve plenty more to write about Mayweather Jr. versus Paul. So, there’s no need to bet today.
MyBookie has odds on three boxing matches this weekend
Odds on three terrific boxing matches welcome MyBookie handicappers. Steven Fulton is a -165 favorite against Angelo Lee in a bout on Saturday, January 23.
Then on Sunday, Justin Pauldo is at +350 versus -500 Rolando Romero and Vic Pasillas is a -165 favorite against +135 Raeese Aleem.
Next week is the Caleb Plant fight. Although it’s not boxing, check out odds on UFC 257: McGregor vs. Poirier 2. Conor is the favorite and has attracted the most action. Dustin Poirier is no joke, though.
I have read enough, I need to place my bet now. What to do?
