Canadian Football League Eastern and Western Semifinals Betting Analysis

This is the official moment that you have been waiting for. The CFL playoffs commence this Sunday with a fantastic doubleheader. The two division champs will wait for next week to play.

The Toronto Argonauts will await to face the winner of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats versus Montréal Alouettes matchup. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers shall face off against the winner of the Calgary Stampeders vs. BC Lions game.

It will be an excellent stretch of Canadian football this weekend with the divisional semi-final on TSN, RDS, and ESPN2. Let’s get a closer look at the upcoming Eastern and Western Semifinal games so you can bet against their CFL Odds.

CFL Betting Preview: Eastern Semi-Final Game / Western Semi-Final Game

Eastern Semi-Final: Hamilton Tiger-Cats (+3) vs. Montréal Alouettes (-148)

A revenge game is brewing back in the 514. Just like last year, these two clubs go head to head in the divisional semi-final.

In the season, the Als took the series. The first game went in favor of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and was played at Tim Hortons Field. The next two games were in favor of the Alouettes, and they were both played at Percival Molson Stadium.

The Alouettes point differential against the Tiger-Cats this year is only +1, so it will definitely be a close one.

The Als will win this game point blank. They are a better team, but there is one player that puts them over the top. The Alouettes have one key to victory, and that is Eugene Lewis.

The Tiger-Cats have done a poor job of covering him throughout the season. Geno is currently a candidate for the most outstanding player, and he averages seven catches, over 100 yards, and one touchdown a game.

The spread is very conservative here. A respectable one at that, but will Montreal be able to cover this?

The Als are 10-7-1 ATS this year and 4-4-1 at home. This is a high-scoring offense and will do monstrous things to this poor Hamilton secondary! The Als will likely be one win away from the Grey Cup since 2010!

Western Semi-Final: Calgary Stampeders (+3) vs. BC Lions (-140)

The best game of the week! Oh, man! Two of the top three teams in all of the Canadian football are set to face off in the late window of Sunday.

These two clubs have met three times this season. The BC Lions came away with the first two series wins in Calgary.

Then the Stampeders proceeded to steal in BC Place. The Stampeders are actually in the lead for a point differential against the Lions at +11.

The BC Lions are expected to be fully healthy for this game. The Lions at full strength are far better than the Stampeders.

The receiving corps of Rhymes, Burnham, and Whitehead will be unstoppable at the hands of the mediocre Stampeders secondary. James Butler will be tough to stop, but the Stamps’ run defense is tough. Overall, the Lions are a phenomenal squad and will be hard to beat.

This spread seems logical when reviewing their games, but on paper, this is flat-out disrespectful. The winner of this game will easily win by at least seven points on their side. This will not be a close game for the Lions as they steamroll to the hardest matchup of the postseason against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers!
