Teams Odds to Win the Next Men’s College World Series

Tennessee Volunteers +185

At 56-12, the best team in College Baseball. Christian Moore continues to smack the baseball all over the diamond, with 33 homeruns on the season.

Colby Backus is striking the baseball well, and the Volunteers have a .316 team batting average.

Tennessee will get a game Sunday Night against North Carolina in Omaha.

The winner of that game will be in great shape as they move along the tournament.

The Volunteers played in the best game of the postseason so far, as they downed Florida State 12-11 on Friday.

In the win, Christian Moore hit for the cycle.

The Volunteers pitchers has 1,438 strikeouts, the most of any team.

Texas A+M Aggies +200

After smacking Oregon around in the Super Regional, and beating Florida 3-2 on Saturday, the Aggies get another SEC foes. They will take on Kentucky on Monday.

The winner puts themselves a step closer.

The Aggies are led by the combination of Jac LaViolette, Haydon Schott and Braden Montgomery.

They come into the game with a 50-13 record.

Kentucky Wildcats +460

Ryan Nicholson leads the offense with 22 homeruns and 62 runs batted in.

The Wildcats seem to be preferring the baller ball type game, but will need to improve upon the 5.21 earned run average over the last four games.

Kentucky is the second ranked team in all of College Baseball with their 46-14 record.

They played a thriller on Saturday, as they downed North Carolina State 5-4 in extra innings.

Kentucky is third in odds, at +460.

North Carolina Tar Heels +460

The Tar Heels are 48-14 on the season. Vance Honeycutt leads the team with 26 homeruns, while Casey Cook has driven in 77.

The Tar Heels are hitting .304 as a team.

Florida Gators vs. LSU Tigers Odds to Win Men’s College World Series

Previous Betting News

LSU third baseman Tommy White knocked off 1-seed Wake Forest with a walk off home run on Thursday night to propel LSU into the 2023 Men’s College World Series. LSU must play at least the first two games in the series with star pitcher Paul Skenes on the bench.

Can LSU elongate the series so that Skenes can get some time on the mound in Monday’s possible third game?

2023 Best 2-of-3 Men’s College World Series: Florida Gators vs. LSU Tigers | MyBookie NCAA Baseball MCWS Finals Preview

Saturday, June 24 – Money, June 26
Rosenblatt Stadium, Omaha, Nebraska
ESPN/ESPN+

MCWS Odds: LSU +235 / Florida +105

Why the Florida Gators will Beat the LSU Tigers

While LSU had to battle it out against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons, the Gators got to rest up for the College World Series.

Florida’s starting rotation is intact. The Gators will go with ace Brandon Sproat on Saturday. Then in Sunday’s Game 2, Florida will send their second ace, Hurston Waldrep to the mound.

Not only do the Gators have their rotation set, but Florida has hit 7 home runs during the College World Series. The 7 home runs in 3 games is phenomenal considering the teams Florida beat.

Why the LSU Tigers will Beat the Florida Gators

The preseason number one ranked team hasn’t disappointed. LSU’s lone loss during the Men’s College World Series was against number one ranked Wake Forest.

After the loss, LSU proceeded to blast Tennessee and then beat Wake in 2 straight to stamp their ticket to the final series. The Tigers have a ton of momentum heading into Saturday’s first game.

Also, during the regular season, LSU ranked at the top in on-base percentage, runs scored, and team batting average.

Final MWCS Betting Prediction: Florida Gators vs. LSU Tigers

Florida hopes to end the MWCS before Monday. To do so, the Gators’ top pitchers must contain an LSU offense that averages 9 runs per game.

That won’t be easy. On the flip side, LSU has to ride likely starting pitcher Ty Floyd’s arm as long as they can in Game 1 on Saturday so they can rest their bullpen.

But even if Floyd doesn’t stand up, LSU is the pick. LSU manager Jay Johnson will see how Floyd performs. If Floyd struggles, Johnson might mail in Game 1 so his bullpen can rest.

Doing so would give LSU the best chance of winning the series. In the second game, Johnson will pull his starter and go to his bullpen early. Then, the LSU manager will send Skenes to the mound on Monday night and hope for another gem like Paul’s performance against Wake.

Johnson’s strategy could work because Florida’s bats may go cold. The Gators were so dominant that it’s a matter of time before they slow down.

LSU is the pick. Johnson will manage the Tigers to a Men’s College World Series trophy in 3.

The 2019 NCAA Baseball Tournament starts on May 31 and runs to June 26. The 2019 College World Series starts on June 15 through June 26 with regional play happening right now. Check out an analysis of the top contenders to win the 2019 NCAA Baseball Tournament. Also make sure to check out college baseball game odds.

2019 College Baseball Tournament Betting Contenders, Preview, and Pick

When: May 31 – June 26

2019 College Baseball Tournament Top Contenders

UCLA
Vanderbilt
Georgia Tech
Mississippi State

Once odds are set, who will be favored to win the 2019 College Baseball Tournament?

Odds way back in February had Vanderbilt and LSU both at +1000 to win the 2019 College World Series. Vanderbilt remains the overall favorite. They dominated LSU in the SEC Semifinals 13-4 just about a week ago. Then, they beat Ole Miss via a walk off home run.

Vanderbilt goes 10 deep with their pitchers. That’s rare in college baseball. The Commodores, no doubt, should provide a serious run to the College World Series. Once there, they could be very difficult to beat.

Which team has the best shot of beating favored Vanderbilt?

UCLA rides a 10-game winning streak into the NCAA Baseball Tournament. The Bruins went 47-8 overall and 24-5 in the Pac 12. They hit very well, but what makes UCLA incredibly dangerous are their pitchers. The Bruins boast the best team ERA in college baseball.

Their ace, Ryan Garcia, is 9-0 with a 1.42 ERA. Michael Townsend has a 1.69 ERA. Holden Powell has a 2.30 ERA, and Kyle Moura, who is 8-1, boasts a 2.41 ERA. Plus, the Bruins are on the other side of the bracket against Vanderbilt, meaning if they face them it will be in the CWS.

Name two dark horses that can take the tournament?

In Major League Baseball, a team can win the World Series by riding the arm of a single pitcher. San Francisco won a couple of World Series by riding Madison Bumgarner’s arm. Mississippi State could win the 2019 NCAA Baseball Tournament by riding the arm of Ethan Small.

The left-handed pitcher went 8-2 with a 1.80 ERA. He produced 150 strikeouts in only 90 innings pitched. Opponents had an on-base average of .155 when Small took the mound. He can single-handedly lead the Bulldogs to the CWS win.

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets boast 6 players in their batting lineup that hit over .300: Michael Guldberg, Jackson Webb, Nick Wilhite, Luke Waddell, Tristin English, and Colin Hall. Guldberg bats .372. Kyle McCann, who hits .297, had 23 home runs during the season. That’s 23 home runs in 58 games, a 39.7% home run hitting percentage.

While Mississippi State can win the college baseball tournament behind Small’s arm, Georgia Tech can win the college baseball tournament at the plate.

Name an underdog that can win the 2019 College Baseball Tournament?

LSU didn’t start out as an underdog. They were one of the favorites in February. Unfortunately, they had injuries all throughout the regular season. Now, they’re fully healed. It showed towards the end of the season when they beat Mississippi State 12-2 on May 24. Vanderbilt dominated them 13-4 on May 25, but if LSU can get it together during regional play, they’ll have a shot at the College World Series.

2017 College World Series Odds & Betting Predictions

Previous Betting News

The College World Series is currently ongoing in Omaha, Nebraska, and it’s a very underrated event and it’s also basically the last NCAA championship of the season with all colleges then going on summer break before football gets going in a couple of months. Louisville is the slight favorite in the college world series odds to win the national title. It would have been Oregon State, the No. 1 overall seed, but the Beavers are missing arguably the best pitcher in college baseball.

2017 College World Series Odds & Betting Predictions

Why Oregon State Isn’t the Favorite to Win?

First of all, Luke Heimlich has left the baseball team after it was recently revealed by an Oregon newspaper that when Heimlich was a teenager he pleaded guilty to molesting a 6-year-old girl. As a result of this, he also did not pitch in the Beavers’ super regional against Vanderbilt.

At 54-4, the Beavers had the fewest losses of any team entering a CWS since Texas came in 57-4 in 1982. Heimlich was the team’s top pitcher with an 11-1 record and nation-best 0.76 ERA. He had been projected to be an early-round pick in Major League Baseball’s draft, which ended Wednesday without him being selected. This definitely affected their college world series odds from the get go.

Which Teams Are Participating?

Here is the field for the 71st College World Series: No. 1 overall seed Oregon State, No. 3 Florida, No. 4  LSU, No. 6 TCU, No. 7 Louisville, Florida State, Cal State Fullerton and Texas A&M.

The Results So Far

Oregon State opened the tournament with a 6-5 win Saturday over Cal State Fullerton. The Beavers overcame a late four-run deficit for the victory. It was their 22nd consecutive win, extending the second longest win streak in the  sport this year and closing in on the school-record 23-game streak that ended in April.

Also, LSU beat Florida State 5-4. On Sunday, Louisville beat Texas A&M 8-4 and Florida beat TCU 3-0. The CWS is double-elimination. Florida State was to play CS Fullerton in an elimination game on Monday. Oregon State faces LSU. The Tigers similarly started the College World Series with a dramatic come-from- behind win to keep their lengthy win streak intact. They have won 17 consecutive games after dispatching Florida State by scoring twice in the eighth inning of their 5-4 win.

The showdown between the streaks will likely establish a clear-cut favorite heading into the homestretch of the College World Series. The winner will earn three days off before getting two chances to clinch a spot CWS Finals. The loser will play an elimination game Wednesday against either Cal State Fullerton or Florida State.

What Games Are Next?

On Tuesday, Texas A&M faces TCU in an elimination game and Louisville takes on Florida. In the Gators’ opening win, starting pitcher Alex Faedo showed why he was a first round MLB Draft pick with his performance. The junior pitched seven shutout innings and limited the Horned Frogs to just two hits, therefore succeeding in the college world series odds.

Faedo was masterful, striking out 11 batters, hence making him the most ever by a Florida pitcher in a College World Series game. He now has 146 strikeouts on the season, tied for the most in the nation with Louisville’s Brendan McKay, who pitched in the Cardinals’ win earlier on Sunday.

For the Gators, they’re in the CWS for the third consecutive year, which matches the school record from 2010-12. This is the sixth time in eight years UF has advanced to Omaha. Florida is seeking its first appearance in the best-of-three CWS final since 2011, so keep your eyes out for this team. They just might be the surprise.

Louisville was selected as a national seed for the third straight season and the fourth time in school history. The Cardinals were also a national seed in 2010 (No. 7), 2015 (No. 3) and 2016 (No. 2). Louisville is making its 10th NCAA postseason appearance in the last 11 seasons and the program’s 11th NCAA appearance overall.

Player To Watch

Speaking of this player, McKay, the 2017 National Player of the Year, 2017 ACC Player of the Year, three-time John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year and No. 4 selection in the MLB Draft (Tampa Bay Rays), leads the way for the Cardinals ranking second in the nation in total strikeouts as a pitcher while also ranking 21st in the nation in slugging percentage as a hitter.

As a matter of fact, the six-time ACC Pitcher of the Week (four this season) has a 10-3 record with a 2.34 ERA and school record 140 strikeouts while hitting .343 with 17 home runs and 56 RBIs. McKay has a 31-10 career record with a 2.15 ERA and 385 strikeouts (school record) to go with a .328 career batting average.

2017 College World Series Odds Betting Pick: LSU Tigers

In conclusion. there’s still a few games to go in the tournament, but I don’t see much changing within the next few days. There might be a couple of suprises, but by the way things are looking right now, I’m liking LSU to take home the national title.
