2016 College Football Bold Expert Picks

Written by on August 17, 2016

If you’re a bold ‘old school’ kind of person that remembers that old saying that says ‘money talks and B.S. walks’ then you’re in for a treat thanks to my six bold predictions for the upcoming 2016 college football season. Let’s get started with these college football betting picks.

Here’s a Closer Look at the 2016 College Football Bold Expert Picks

McCaffery for President!

Look…at this point of what has been the most insane Presidential election of all-time, I say forget about Hillary ‘I didn’t do it’ Clinton and Donald ‘Let’s Ban ‘Em’ Trump. I’ voting for Stanford superstar Christian McCaffery! Seriously though, I believe McCaffery is hands-down, the best all-around football player in all of college football. You see, Stanford’s hybrid running back/wide receiver/returner can absolutely destroy opponents in a multitude of ways. McCaffrey set the NCAA single-season all-purpose record as a sophomore last season with 3,864 total yards, including a school-record 2,109 rushing yards and eight touchdowns. McCaffery also caught 45 passes for 645 yards and five scores while returning 37 kickoffs for 1,070 yards and one score and 15 punts for 13 yards and an additional touchdown. Okay, okay, since McCaffery can’t win the presidency, I guess the 2016 Heisman Trophy will have to do. Bold Pick: Christian McCaffery wins Heisman

Ole Miss Beats Alabama – Again!

Ole Miss was the only team in all the land to beat mighty Alabama last season, recording a thrilling 43-37 win that stunned the Crimson Tide and their faithful fans, in Alabama no less. Not only that, but the Rebels also beat their SEC rivals in 2014, winning 23-17 at home to stun the Tide and snap seven-game skid against Nick Saban’s team. Maybe it’s me, but I think Ole Miss is primed to pull off another upset over the Tide when they meet this season in Oxford, Mississippi in Week 3. The Rebels have an elite quarterback while the Tide enter the 2016 season looking for new starter under center and a new starting running back. Bold Pick: Ole Miss Beats Alabama in Week 3

Michigan State Beats Michigan – Again!

College football fans and expert are apparently enamored with Jim Harbaugh and his title-contending Michigan Wolverines, but it is Mark Dantonio and the Michigan State Spartans that I like to bring home the bacon when the longtime Big Ten rivals square off at Michigan State in late October. The Spartans have won three straight in this series and will make it four in a row by winning at home in a contest featuring two new starting quarterbacks for both programs. Michigan undoubtedly wants revenge for their crushing 27-23 stunner of loss last season, but they’re not getting it. Bold Pick: Michigan State beats Michigan – again!

Notre Dame Reaches Four-Team Playoff!

The Irish won 10 games last season but suffered a pair of crushing late-season losses that left them on the outside looking in come playoff time. Nevertheless, I like Notre Dame to somehow, someway, reach the College Football Playoff in 2016 behind one of their two gifted signal-callers. The Irish have a really good head coach in Brian Kelly and a plethora of gifted athletes that have a chip on their collective shoulders the size of Mount Rushmore. With no clear-cut elite team besides Clemson, I like Notre Dame to reach this season’s four-team postseason! Bold Pick: Notre Dame to reach CFB Playoff

Houston reaches Four-Team CFB Playoff

Not only did the Cougars go 13-1 last season, but they’re primed for a repeat performance, thanks to the multitude of skill position players – and gifted quarterback Greg Ward Jr. Last season, Houston’s fleet-footed dual-threat quarterback completed an insane 67.2 percent of his passes for 2,828 yards and 17 touchdowns with just six interceptions while leading the Cougars in rushing with 1,108 yards and 21 scores. Call me crazy, but I like the Houston Cougars to reach the four-team playoff in 2016 – if the voters don’t hate on them that is! Bold Pick: Houston to reach four-team playoff

The Crimson Tide Fail to Reach Four-Team Playoff

Alabama might be the defending national champs, but I believe they’re also going to have a tough 2016 season as they break in a new starting quarterback and running back, not to mention, replacing a slew of outstanding defenders that all went on to the NFL. Alabama suffers at least two losses during the regular season to get left on the outside looking in come playoff time. Bold Pick: Alabama fails to reach CFB Playoff

Clemson Wins It All!

Maybe it’s me, but I think the national champion runner-up Clemson Tigers are poised to lift the national championship trophy in early 2017. Clemson has arguably the best quarterback in all of college football and an underrated running back that will be playing at the next level in the very near future. Combine that with Clemson’s stud-filled defense and a head coach in Dabo Swinney that takes a back seat to no one when it comes to motivating his players. Not only do the Tigers appear in consecutive national championships, but this time, they win it all! Bold Pick: Clemson to win National Championship
