It’s rivalry week in college football, and with this being a holiday week in the US, the action gets started in a big way on Friday night. There are a lot of big games on the calendar this weekend, which is going to make picking the games to play a little tougher. UCF Knights (-14) at USF Bulls
Let’s get the ball rolling with a game set to go on Friday afternoon. The UCF Knights are one win away from posting their second straight unbeaten regular season, although that still will not be enough to persuade the committee to put them into the top 4. The Knights will close out the regular season with a road trip to Tampa to face the USF Bulls, a game that UCF will start as a 14-point favorite. The Bulls are coming into this one on a 4-game losing skid after starting the year with 7 straight wins. They look like a team lacking in confidence and are likely to be in trouble here. Florida Gators (-5 ½) at Florida State Seminoles
Given their current record, the Gators still have a legitimate shot at landing in one of the major bowl games on New Year’s Day. While that is something of a consolation prize, it would certainly be a big step forward from where they were at last season. They still need a win over their in-state rivals this weekend to have a shot at one of those big games, and they are on the road as a 5 ½ point favorite.
