NCAA Football Week 13 Odds, Overview & Top Picks

Written by on November 19, 2018

While a few teams will technically finish their regular seasons in Week 14, this week is really it. Some teams will close out losing campaigns in Week 13, some will be fighting for bowl eligibility, and some will be suiting up again next weekend in conference title tilts. Here’s a look at a couple of interesting NCAAF matchups on Friday – Black Friday — in Week 13 with the latest College Football Betting Odds.

NCAA Football Week 13 Odds Overview & Top Picks

No. 10 Central Florida at South Florida (+14.5)

  • When: Friday, 4:15 PM ET (ESPN)

This rivalry is called the War on I-4 as the schools are separated by about 80 miles on that interstate – UCF is in Orlando and USF in Tampa.

The Knights have the nation’s longest active winning streak at 23 straight yet probably will be left out of the College Football Playoff again. The Knights are off an impressive 38-13 win over No. 19 Cincinnati to clinch the AAC East Division for the second straight year. McKenzie Milton finished 13-of-25 for 268 yards and three passing touchdowns. He added a fourth touchdown on the ground. Adrian Killins recorded four receptions for 82 yards and two touchdowns.

Milton moved into third all-time in UCF history for pass completions, now totaling 625. He also scored the 20th rushing touchdown of his career, which moves him into a tie for 7th all-time at UCF (Mike Grant, 1995-98; Brynn Harvey, 2008-12). Milton has now thrown a touchdown pass in 23 straight games, passing Daunte Culpepper for the second longest streak in program history (Ryan Schneider, 28).

UCF’s 23-game win streak is a program and American Athletic Conference record. UCF now has a streak of 23 games of scoring 30 points or more, which leads the nation. With 10 wins, UCF now has seven 10-win seasons in program history, with six at the Division I FBS level. UCF will host the AAC title game on Dec. 1 but its opponent isn’t known yet.

USF is on a four-game losing streak following a 27-17 loss at Temple on Saturday. USF’s defense came out locked-in and the Bulls seized a 17-0 halftime lead before Temple stormed back with 27 unanswered points. USF (7-4, 3-4 in AAC) has lost four straight games for the first time since dropping six straight at the end of the 2013 season. The Bulls defense allowed only 73 rushing yards (337 total yards) and 13 points against a potent Owls offense that averaged 44.5 points and 603.5 yards in its previous two games. Temple scored touchdowns on special teams and defense.

Junior Jordan Cronkrite USF’s ground attack with 17 attempts for 83 yards and two touchdowns, becoming the fifth player in program history to rush for 1,000 yards in a season. Both of Cronkrite’s rushing touchdowns came during the Bulls’ 17-0 run in the opening half. Starting quarterback Blake Barnett completed 14 of 23 passes for 82 yards and threw two interceptions after missing last week’s game with a shoulder injury.

Last year, UCF won a 49-42 shootout over USF. In a game with 1,186 yards of offense — including a school-record 605 from South Florida quarterback Quinton Flowers — it ended up being special teams that made the difference. UCF’s Mike Hughes returned a kickoff 95 yards for a score with 1:28 left to win it. Hughes’ touchdown capped a crazy 53-second span where the Knights took an eight-point lead, South Florida tied it and then the Knights took the lead for good.

No. 6 Oklahoma at No. 12 West Virginia (+2.5)

  • When: Friday, 8 p.m. ET (ESPN)

Quite simple here: The winner is guaranteed a spot in the Big 12 title game probably against Texas. The loser would get in if Texas is upset by Kansas, which isn’t very likely. OU has won all six meetings since the Mountaineers joined the Big 12 in 2012.

For the Sooners to have a chance for their third CFP appearance in four years, they must win at Morgantown and claim their fourth straight Big 12 championship the following week at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. In the process, OU also must leapfrog at least two teams currently ahead of them in the CFP rankings for a shot at the program’s eighth national title since 1950.

Oklahoma is off a 55-40 win over Kansas. It was Oklahoma’s sixth game this season with at least 50 points. OU leads the nation since 2015 with 21 games in which it has scored 50 or more points. Oklahoma has scored at least 48 points in five straight games, its longest streak since 2008 when the Sooners scored at least 58 points in six consecutive contests. In Big 12 play, the Sooners lead the conference with 605.9 yards of offense per game. OU has gained at least 500 yards of offense against every Big 12 opponent this season.

The Sooners shouldn't be one of your picks for NCAA Football Week 13.

Kyler Murray accounted for five touchdowns in the game (three rushing, two passing). It was his third game this season in which he accounted for five or more total TDs. He has accounted for at least four total TDs in eight games this season. He has accounted for 44 total touchdowns this season (34 passing, 10 rushing). His 75-yard TD run in the fourth quarter was a career long and was the seventh-longest run by a quarterback in school history.

Kennedy Brooks rushed for a career-high 171 yards and scored two touchdowns on 25 carries. It was his fourth 100-yard rushing game of the season. He scored rushing touchdowns of seven and 13 yards and now has a team-high 11 rushing TDs this season.

WVU was upset 45-41 at Oklahoma State on Saturday. Tylan Wallace’s 11-yard touchdown reception with 42 seconds left won it for the Pokes. Wallace’s score capped a 17-point second half rally that saw the seventh-ranked Mountaineers blow their first halftime lead in 21 straight games under Coach Dana Holgorsen.

Redshirt senior quarterback Will Grier finished with 364 passing yards, good for his school-record 18th career 300-yard passing game. He passed Geno Smith (2009-12), who finished with 17 career 300-yard passing games. The Mountaineers finished with 553 yards of total offense, the seventh time they have recorded 500 or more yards of offense in 2018, and the 41st time under Holgorsen. Grier completed 27 passes against Oklahoma State and now has 484 in his WVU career, passing Oliver Luck (1978-81) for No. 5 in program history. He has 234 completions in 2018, eighth-most in single-season program history.
