NCAA Football Week 9 Over/Under Picks

Written by on October 23, 2018

Football fans tend to fall into two different categories; you have those that love smashmouth, low-scoring football, and then you have the crowd that loves to see high-scoring shootouts. When playing the point total, you need to put your preferences aside and look at the match-ups with a critical eye. You might love all-out offensive football, but it may be that defensive struggle that ends up putting a little extra money in your pocket. We have scanned the Week 9 college football schedule and come up with 4 games that we like as O/U picks. Keep in mind that we will also have SU and ATS picks coming your way today, too.

NCAA Football Week 9 Over/Under Picks

Miami Hurricanes vs Boston College Eagles (UNDER 50 ½)

The Miami Hurricanes lost to Virginia last week despite only giving up 16 points to the Cavaliers. The Hurricanes offense has been a bit of a sticking point over the past two seasons, although the over has hit in 2 of their last 4 games. Things tend to go a little differently on the road, though, with 9 of the last 11 games that Miami have played away from home going UNDER.

They have also seen 4 of the last 5 games against the Eagles go UNDER. All 3 games that Boston College have played at home this season have gone over, but I think this may be the one that bucks the trend.

  • The total has gone UNDER in 9 of Miami FL’s last 11 games on the road
  • The total has gone UNDER in 4 of Boston College’s last 5 games when playing Miami-FL

Indiana Hoosiers vs Minnesota Golden Gophers (OVER 54 ½)

Let’s stick with the Friday night games for our next pick in the O/U category, as I think we can pocket a little extra money that will help us get a little more creative with our Saturday plays. Indiana has very much been trending with the OVER of late, seeing 4 of their last 5 games go that route, as well as 4 of their last 6 games on the road.

Five of the last eight meetings between these two have gone OVER the point total, while the Golden Gophers are 4-3 O/U this season. This one may flirt with the total, but I think it creeps just OVER.

Army Black Knights vs Eastern Michigan Eagles (OVER 48)

This is probably not a game that is on your radar unless, of course, you are a fan of one of these teams, but it’s a match-up that has delivered on the OVER more often than not, with each of the last 5 meetings between these two going that route.

Army is one of the favorites for NCAA Football Week 9.

Army is 5-2 SU on the season and tends to see their games get up there in scoring on the road, with 4 of their last 6 games away from home going OVER. It has been the under that has been trending with the Eagles of late, but that all seems to go out the window when Army come calling. I think this one easily goes over the 48-point total.

Texas A&M Aggies vs Mississippi State Bulldogs (UNDER 44 ½)

While both of these teams have done a decent job of putting points on the board this season, they have also both been very good at slowing down the opposition. The Bulldogs, in particular, have been strong on D, giving up just shy of 14 PPG.

That would seem to set up the UNDER here, especially with 4 of the last 5 Aggies games going that route. Texas A&M has also seen 12 of their last 17 road games going UNDER the point total, while the UNDER has also hit in 5 of the last 6 games for the Bulldogs. This looks like a low-scoring affair all the way.
