Oregon at USC

Oregon went 9-4 and 5-4 in the Pac-12 North last season and the Ducks have split the last four meetings against USC although they haven’t faced the Trojans since 2016. Oregon ranked an impressive 25th in scoring and 48t in points allowed last season and are led by sure-fire NFL prospect Justin Herbert at quarterback. USC went a dismal 5-7 last season a year after losing starting quarterback Sam Darnold, but they could be better in 2019 with now, sophomore quarterback JT Daniels having the experience of starting last season under his belt. Still, the Trojans need to improve their rushing attack and a defense that was average across the board. I’m smelling a road win for the Ducks in this one, most likely as road favorites too!
Utah at Washington

Utah went 9-5 and 6-4 in the Pac-12 South last season while finishing an impressive 17th in points allowed (19.4 ppg), but just 76th in scoring (28.1 ppg). I’m thinking the Utes need some serious improvement from quarterback Tyler Huntley in 2019 if they are going to have a successful campaign or any chance at beating a Washington team that went 10-4 last season and still looks like a more than formidable foe despite losing their starting quarterback and running back.
Miami at Florida State
- When: Saturday, November 2
- Where: Doak Campbell Stadium, Tallahassee, FL
Miami went an underachieving 7-6 and 4-4 in the ACC Coastal division last season in Year 3 under head coach Mark Richt a year after going an impressive 10-3 in 2017. The good news for the Canes is that Florida State was nearly incompetent in going 5-7 and 3-5 in the ACC Atlantic division. Miami was elite defensively in allowing just 19.5 points per game (18th) and they were solid in putting up 28.8 points per contest offensively (66th). Florida State finished a pitiful 113th in scoring (21.9 ppg) and equally discouraging 90th in points allowed (31.5 ppg). Both teams have question marks at quarterback, but at least the Canes are rock-solid defensively.
Georgia at Florida

- Where: TIAA Bank Field, Jacksonville, FL

Georgia is looking to get back into the College Football Playoff after going 11-3 and 7-2 in the SEC East a year ago. Florida went a fantastic 10-3 in their first year under former Mississippi State head coach Dan Mullen while finishing 22nd in scoring (35.0 ppg) and 20th in points allowed (20.0 ppg). The Bulldogs have won two straight in this series including an emphatic 36-17 road win over the Gators in week 9 to cover the chalk as a 7-point road favorite. I really like the direction that Mullen has Florida heading in, but the fact of the matter is that Georgia is just a little bit better – at everything – than the Gators.
