We all have different wagers that we like to play on any given college football weekend. For some, it’s the SU play that’s the way to go, while others look at the ATS and O/U picks. I like to play them all, and I especially like to mix things up a little in my parlays. With that in mind, we are looking at a bunch of different NCAAF betting angles for Week 3. We will have SU and ATS picks coming your way today, but for the purposes of this piece, we have four different O/U picks for you to look at. Let’s get right to it.
2019 College Football Week 3 Over/Under Betting Picks
Arkansas State Red Wolves at Georgia Bulldogs (OVER 57)
The Georgia Bulldogs came into the new college football season ranked in the top 4, although there were some who had concerns about their WR group this season. It has not been an issue to this point, with Georgia once again pounding the football in the running game and scoring a combined 93 points through the opening two weeks. It’s another straightforward task for the Bulldogs this weekend with the Arkansas State Red Wolves heading into Athens. 7 of the last 8 games that Georgia has played in Week 3 have gone over, so let’s look for more of the same here.
College Football Week 3 Betting Trends
- The total has gone UNDER in 5 of Arkansas State’s last 6 games played in September
- The total has gone OVER in 7 of Georgia’s last 8 games played in week 3
New Mexico Lobos at Notre Dame Fighting Irish (UNDER 61 ½)
There is absolutely no question that the Irish are going to come out and lay a beating on the Lobos this Saturday, but it’s the point total that we are looking at in this one. For this one, it is specifically Notre Dame that we need to look at here, as it will be the number of points that they put up that will dictate how the O/U plays out here. They have seen their last 4 games go the way of the UNDER, while also seeing 4 of their last 6 games played in September go the same way. I think we are looking at a comfortable win and the UNDER.
College Football Week 3 Betting Trends
- The total has gone OVER in 5 of New Mexico’s last 6 games on the road
- The total has gone UNDER in 4 of Notre Dame’s last 5 games
Arizona State Sun Devils at Michigan State Spartans (OVER 44 ½)
This is a match-up that very much screams UNDER when you look at the trends that these two teams are bringing to the table. This is especially true when you look back at the Spartans offense in Week 1, as it continually huffed and puffed on the way to a less than impressive win over Tulsa.Things looked a whole lot better in Week 2, and while Western Michigan are a team you would expect the Spartans to beat, it’s fair to suggest that they looked good in doing so. A pair of good defenses here, but I have a feeling that this one creeps OVER in the 48-50-point range.
College Football Week 3 Betting Trends
- The total has gone OVER in 4 of Arizona State’s last 6 games played in week 3
- The total has gone UNDER in 5 of Michigan State’s last 6 games at home
UNLV Rebels at Northwestern Wildcats (UNDER 57)
Northwestern were one of the big surprises of the season last year, making it all the way to the Big Ten Championship Game, where they were soundly beaten by Ohio State. That magic has not really carried over into this season, though, as a loss to Stanford to start the year has them in an early hole. They managed just 7 points in that loss, with the total in that one going way UNDER. That has been a bit of a trend for the Wildcats, with 6 of their last 8 Week 3 games going UNDER. More of the same this weekend.
College Football Week 3 Betting Trends
- The total has gone UNDER in 4 of Nevada-Las Vegas’ last 6 games played on a Saturday
- The total has gone UNDER in 6 of Northwestern’s last 9 games
