College Football Odds and Best Betting O/U Picks for Week 6

As we do every week at this time, we are going to look through the schedule to see if we can find some solid NCAAF point total picks, so let’s dive right in and get to it. | MyBookie Sportsbook | 2023 College Football Betting | Regular Season: August 26 to December 9 | Week 6: Wednesday, October 4 to Saturday, October 7, 2023

College Football Odds Week 6
Oklahoma vs TexasOVER 60 ½
Syracuse vs North CarolinaUNDER 59 ½
Notre Dame vs LouisvilleOVER 54

The season is moving along at a fair clip, as we are now about to head into Week 6, which also means that we are getting into the heart of the conference schedule. This tends to be where seasons are won and lost in college football, as it’s always tough to get through the gauntlet that is the conference schedule. It can, at times, be a dog-eat-dog situation, which in turn can lead to the hopes of a conference championship or a playoff spot dying rather quickly.

#12 Oklahoma Sooners at #3 Texas Longhorns

When: Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 12:00pm ET
Where: Cotton Bowl, Dallas, TX
TV: ABC

Yes, that is a rather lofty point total, but this is a matchup, and a conference, that tends to deliver a lot of offense. This will be the last time that we will see the Red River Showdown as part of the Big 12, as both of these teams will be moving to the SEC for the 2024 season. Neither of them will be thinking about that, though, as the winner of this one will be one step closer to a playoff spot, since both are coming in with perfect records right now. The last 10 meetings between these two teams have delivered an average of 70 PPG, so there is every reason to believe that this one will go OVER the point total.

Syracuse Orange at #14 UNC Tar Heels

When: Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 3:30pm ET
Where: Kenan Stadium, Chapel Hill, NC
TV: ESPN

Given how things are playing out in the ACC this season, every conference game is proving to be bigger than usual. Clemson, who are 1-2 in conference play, are in trouble, so the door is open for some other team to take advantage of. Right now, UNC looks to be one of the teams ready to go through that door, but this one has all the makings of a trap game. That aside, I believe that the point total here is a little on the high side, especially with both teams trending on the UNDER of late. The UNDER has hit for the Orange in 4 of the last 5 games, and it is much the same story for the Tar Heels, who have seen 7 of their last 10 go UNDER. We will get some offense here, but I don’t see these two combining for over 60 points.

#10 Notre Dame Fightin Irish at #25 Louisville Cardinals

When: Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 7:30pm ET
Where: Cardinal Stadium, Louisville, KY
TV: ABC

This is a massive game for both teams in Week 6. The Irish are still stewing after giving up a last second TD to lose to Ohio State, but they are still a top 10 team and very much in the playoff conversation given the nature of that loss. The Cardinals are a perfect 5-0 and have the lead atop the ACC, but this is without a doubt the toughest game on their schedule to this point. If they can win this one, they will take a big leap up from their current #25 slot. In the last 5 meeting with teams in the Atlantic Division, the Irish have seen the OVER hit all 5 times. They have also seen the OVER hit in 10 of their last 13 games overall.

2022 NCAA Football Over/Under Betting Picks for the Top Games on Week 6

The college football season is moving along quickly, as we are about to head into Week 6 of the season. There was a slight change at the top of the National Rankings, with Alabama ousting Georgia out of the top spot after the Bulldogs struggled to grind out a road win over Missouri. Other than that, the top 4 stays pretty much the same, but we have a few teams making moves up the rankings that could put them right in the mix if one of the top 4 teams stumbles, which would not be a surprise given how the season has gone to this point. As far as our picks have gone this season, we are 31-17 overall, although just 8-8 in our point total picks. Let’s see if we can get above .500 with our O/U picks for Week 6 of the college football season.

NCAAF Week 6 O/U Betting Picks | 2022 College Football Analysis

Wisconsin Badgers at Northwestern Wildcats (UNDER 44)

It’s a huge Big Ten matchup set to go this weekend, as both of these teams look to get rolling in what is a tightly packed West Division. Wisconsin is 2-2 overall, but both of those losses have come at the hands of conference foes. Northwestern is 1-1 in conference play, but they have now lost 4 in a row and sit at 1-4 on the season. It’s fair to suggest that this is a must win game for both teams, and I expect that we might well see a tight defensive struggle here. Northwestern has seen 8 of their last 10 home games go UNDER the point total and I believe we can expect more of the same in this one.

BYU Cougars at Notre Dame Fighting Irish (OVER 52)

While the games this season have very much fallen into the unexpected category on several occasions, there are some trends that make us feel a little bit more comfortable about betting one way or another. When it comes to the BYU Cougars, the OVER has very much been the way to go. Each of their last 3 games this season have gone that route, while if you look back at their last 10 games overall, you will see that the OVER hit in 8 of those games. If you need more than just that, then consider that BYU has seen 5 of their last 7 games playing as the underdog also go OVER the point total. I think we get a ton of offense in this one.

Utah Utes at UCLA Bruins (OVER 64)

Given the number that the bookies have put in for the point total, this one might be seen as something of a risk, but it’s one that I am willing to take. Both teams are undefeated on the season, which means that both are very much in the picture to go to the PAC 12 Conference Game. While not necessarily an elimination game just yet, the winner of this one will get an obvious advantage within the conference. In road games, Utah has seen 6 of their last 7 games go OVER the point total. It’s just as convincing when you look at UCLA, as they have seen 8 of their last 10 home games go OVER. I think we are in for a shootout here.

NCAAF 2020 Season Week 6 O/U Picks & Expert Analysis

After taking a while to finally figure things out, the college football season is now in full swing, as we are about to head into Week 6. It is pretty much the usual suspects sitting at the top of the rankings after the first few weeks, but it is going to be interesting to see how things play out once the Big 10 and PAC 12 begin their seasons. Have they left it too late or will they be able to sway the playoff committee after playing shorter seasons? Only time will tell. For now, we are going to focus on the coming games this weekend to see if we can come up with some winning picks. We have already delivered SU and ATS college football picks this week, so let’s now turn our attention to some O/U selections so you can go ahead and place your bets against their NCAAF odds.

O/U Picks Week 6 | NCAA Football Betting

NC State Wolfpack at Virginia Cavaliers (OVER 60)

Normally, when I see a point total set this high, I usually steer well clear, but there is actually a lot of like about taking the OVER with this one. Both of these teams are averaging over 30 PPG this season, and both have been very much tending towards the OVER in their most recent games. Of course, this could well prove to be one of those situations where a game that has the potential to be a shootout ends up being a defensive battle. NC State has seen 6 of their last 7 games go OVER, including both games played this season. Things are even more convincing when looking at the Cavaliers, who are currently on a run of 8 straight games with the OVER hitting. That includes 6 in a row versus conference foes.

Florida Gators at Texas A&M Aggies (OVER 57 ½)

Getting through a brutal SEC schedule is always a challenge but managing to navigate it unscathed this season is potentially going to be a nightmare. The conference is home to a handful of very good teams, with the Florida Gators very much among that elite group. The Gators offense has been firing on all cylinders through their opening 2 games of the season, putting a whopping 89 points on the board. When you consider that the Aggies gave up 52 points to Alabama last weekend, you can see how this point total might be easily surpassed. The OVER has hit in 7 of the last 8 games that Florida has played in the month of October.

Arkansas Razorbacks at Auburn Tigers (UNDER 47 ½)

What we are looking at here is a match-up between a pair of teams that are about as far removed from being an offensive powerhouse as you can get. Through their opening two games of the season, the Arkansas Razorbacks are averaging a touch over 13 PPG, while the Tigers are not much better, averaging a little over 17 PPG. Arkansas has struggled pretty badly in their most recent games against the Auburn Tigers, which has them in as the underdog here. In their last 11 games starting as the underdog, the UNDER has hit 8 times. As for Auburn, they have seen the UNDER hit in 6 of their last 8, which includes both games played this season.

2019 College Football Week 6 Over/Under Betting Picks

The teams that will eventually make it into the top 4 and the college football playoffs will be the ones who can survive the scare that they are sure to face this season. The Clemson Tigers had their first one last weekend, being just a late 2-point conversion away from potentially dropping their first game of the season in North Carolina.

The other big guns have all gone through the season unscathed and without any real bad moments, but that just means that those are still to come. College Football Week 6 is almost upon us, which means that it’s time to look ahead and start making some picks. Besides our O/U picks here, we will also have SU and ATS selections coming your way.

College Football Week 6 Over/Under Betting Picks

Oklahoma Sooners at Kansas Jayhawks (OVER 67)

The Sooners are one of those teams at the top who have made it look very easy through their opening 4 games of the season. QB Jalen Hurts, who transferred in from Alabama in the offseason, has fit in nicely in the Sooners offense, helping them get to an average of 55 PPG.

They are going to put some big number up on the board again this week, and while the Jayhawks have not been a huge offensive threat this season, you still expect them to chip in some points here and there, all of which should take this one OVER.

>

College Football Week 6 Betting Trends

  • The total has gone OVER in 5 of Oklahoma’s last 6 games against an opponent in the Big 12 conference
  • The total has gone UNDER in 4 of Kansas’ last 5 games played in week 6

Maryland Terrapins at Rutgers Scarlet Knights (UNDER 54)

The 142 combined points that the Maryland Terrapins put on the board in the opening 2 weeks of the season now seems like a distant memory. They have dropped back to back games since then, managing just 17 points in those losses. Rutgers have been even worse and have been shutout twice already this season, including a 52-0 loss to Michigan last week.

While I like Maryland to get some of their swagger back in this one on their way to a win, this still looks like a game where the UNDER is a good bet.

College Football Week 6 Betting Trends

  • The total has gone OVER in 7 of Maryland’s last 9 games played in October
  • The total has gone UNDER in 4 of Rutgers’ last 5 games played on a Saturday

Purdue Boilermakers at Penn State Nittany Lions (OVER 55 ½)

The question about whether Penn State are for real or not this season will likely not be answered until they get into the heart of their conference schedule. For now, though, they have impressed in 3 of their 4 wins, putting up some big points.

Purdue is one of the favorites for College Football Week 6.

That said, they did have one game that may have given pause to some of the folks looking to crown them already, with that one being a 17-10 win over the Pitt Panthers. While the under has hit in 8 of the last 11 meetings between these two, the Boilermakers have seen 4 of their last 5 go over, with the Nittany Lions also seeing the OVER hit in 4 of their last 5 games in October.

College Football Week 6 Betting Trends

  • The total has gone UNDER in 10 of Purdue’s last 12 games on the road
  • The total has gone OVER in 4 of Penn State’s last 5 games played in October

Northwestern Wildcats at Nebraska Cornhuskers in College Football Week 6 (UNDER 50)

When the Cornhuskers get involved in conference play, the points tend to start piling up, with 11 of their last 14 games versus Big Ten opposition going over.

Before you check the over box on your betting slip for this one, though, there are some things to consider, with the biggest being that each of Northwestern’s last 5 road games have gone UNDER the point total. They have also seen 8 of their last 12 overall go that route, which is why I am more inclined to go UNDER.

College Football Week 6 Betting Trends

  • The total has gone UNDER in 8 of Northwestern’s last 12 games
  • The total has gone OVER in 11 of Nebraska’s last 14 games against an opponent in the Big 10 conference

NCAA Football Week 6 Over/Under Picks
After 5 weeks of the college football season, the biggest question being asked is if any team has what it takes to knock off the huge NCAAF Betting favorite to win it all, the Alabama Crimson Tide. The champions have looked outstanding through the opening 4 weeks, although the biggest games on their schedule are still ahead of them.

The toughest part for fans and bettors is picking out the games that are the ones to wager on, which is tough when there are so many great match-ups on the schedule. We have picked out 4 games to play on the O/U, but we also will have articles covering ATS and SU picks, as well as some parlay tickets for you guys to have a look at.

NCAA Football Week 6 Over/Under Picks

Missouri Tigers vs South Carolina Gamecocks (OVER 64 ½)

The Tigers should be coming into this one fresh after having a bye week last week, and they are probably still smarting about their loss to Georgia in Week 4. Despite losing to the #2 team in the nation, the Tigers will still able to put 29 points up on the board, so there is every reason to believe that Drew Lock and company can score regularly against the Gamecocks.

A season that started with so much promise for the Gamecocks has come undone, as they now have 2 losses in conference play, which essentially kills any chances of an SEC East win. The under has hit in each of the last 5 meetings between these two, but I think we are going to break that trend and go OVER this weekend.

Latest College Football Week 6 Betting Trends

  • The total has gone OVER in 5 of Missouri’s last 7 games on the road
  • The total has gone UNDER in 5 of South Carolina’s last 5 games when playing Missouri

Florida State Seminoles vs Miami Hurricanes (UNDER 51)

While this is one of the great match-ups in college football, a little bit of the shine has come off this one with the recent demise of the Seminoles. They are in the process of rebuilding under new head coach Willie Taggart, while the Hurricanes are on the rise after a big year in 2017.

The form book very often goes out the window when these two meet up, though, as both tend to raise their game against their biggest rival. It is usually a hard-hitting match-up that doesn’t always deliver a lot of offense. In the last 10 games between these two at the home of the Hurricanes, the UNDER has hit 8 times.

Latest College Football Week 6 Betting Trends

  • The total has gone UNDER in 8 of Florida State’s last 11 games on the road
  • The total has gone UNDER in 8 of Miami FL’s last 10 games when playing at home against Florida State

Iowa Hawkeyes vs Minnesota Golden Gophers (UNDER 42 ½)

These are a pair of teams that play a very similar style of football, which is to say that they are more about the defense than putting up big offensive numbers. The Golden Gophers are giving up just 17 PPG this season, while the Hawkeyes are a little better at just 13 PPG.
Iowa is one of the favorites for College Football Week 6.
Both teams are hovering in the mid 20’s in points scored per game, which suggests that offense might be at a premium in this one. 7 of the last 9 meetings between these two have gone UNDER, with the same outcome in 4 of the last 5 games that Iowa has played in Minnesota.

Latest College Football Week 6 Betting Trends

  • The total has gone OVER in 4 of Iowa’s last 6 games
  • The total has gone UNDER in 7 of Minnesota’s last 9 games when playing Iowa

Washington Huskies vs UCLA Bruins (OVER 50 ½)

The Huskies opened the season with a loss to Auburn and have been forced to play near perfect football ever since, which they have done. While the offense of the Huskies was surrounded by a lot of hype coming into the season, it can be argued that they have not really lived up to expectations.

It is the defense that has been on top for this team, but you get the sense that Washington still has a big blowout game in them, and it might just come at the expense of the woeful Bruins. While the under has been the trend for the Huskies overall, the OVER has hit in 4 of their last 6 trips to UCLA.
