NCAAF 2020 Bowl Games ATS Picks December 21st Edition

Written by on December 21, 2020

The regular season, which was an odd one, is over, and the final four has been set. Not everyone is pleased with the decision made by the Playoff Committee, with a lot of people feeling that Texas A&M were given the shaft. Right or wrong, the decision has been made and the semi-finals are set. Before we get to those games, though, we have a ton of bowl games to look forward to. Between now and Saturday we have a bunch of games to watch and wager on, and those are the ones that we will be turning out attention to for our SU picks of the week. Let’s get right to it and see if we can pick up some winners so you can bet against their NCAAF odds.

NCAAF ATS Picks for Bowl Games on Dec 21st through 26th

UCF Knights Vs BYU Cougars (-7)

Let’s get the ball rolling by taking a look at the Boca Raton Bowl, which goes on Tuesday. The UCF Knights were the darlings of college football for a couple of years, but they have slid off their lofty perch, ending this season with a 6-3 record. Covering the spread has not been easy for the Knights this season, as they have managed to do so just twice in their last 8 games. They come into this one as an underdog against a BYU team that posted an impressive 10-1 record this season. They went unbeaten through their opening 9 games before losing to Coastal Carolina. The Cougars are just 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5, but I still feel as though they can come out, get the win, and cover in this one. I would not be surprised to see a double-digit win.

Louisiana Tech Bulldogs Vs Georgia Southern Eagles (-6 ½)

Wednesday will see the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs and the Georgia Southern Eagles head to the Mercedes Benz Superdome for the New Orleans Bowl, with the Eagles in as the favorite. The strange nature of this season can be seen in this matchup, with the Bulldogs making it in despite picking up just 4 wins on the season, ending the year at 4-4. Making matters worse, at least from a betting perspective, is that Louisiana Tech is just 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games. They will face a Georgia Southern team that went 7-5 on the season, but who closed things out with 3 losses in their final 4 games. They were a good ATS pick, though, going 5-2 in their last 7. I think they win and cover on Wednesday.

Hawaii Rainbow Warriors Vs Houston Cougars (-13)

We now jump ahead to Thursday and the New Mexico Bowl between the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors and the Houston Cougars. Neither of these teams were able to play a ton of games this season, with Houston actually getting into a bowl game with a losing 3-4 record. Neither team has been great against the spread of late, but there is one stat that might just swing it, which we will get to at the end. Hawaii has gone 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games this season, but they did cover in 4 of the last 6 games they started as the underdog. Similarly, Houston is just 2-4 ATS in their last 6, but they seem to love Thursday games, as they are 7-3 ATS in their last 10.
