NCAAF 2020 Season Week 16 SU Picks Expert Analysis

Written by on December 15, 2020

Week 16 marks the final week of the college football regular season, which means that we have a bunch of Conference Championship Games on tap. Given how crazy the schedule has been this season, we also have some regular season games still to play, wo we have a solid collection of games to choose from with out picks. It’s a good idea to keep an eye on how things are playing out this week, as we have already seen the Washington Huskies pull out of the PAC 12 Conference Championship Game due to a COVID spike. They will be replaced by the Oregon Ducks for the Friday game, but there may still be some more postponements and changes coming, so watch out for that before you wager. For now, let’s make our SU picks for Week 16 so you can bet against their NCAAF odds.

Oklahoma Sooners over Iowa State Cyclones

The Big 12 Conference Championship Game has a familiar face once more, with the Oklahoma Sooners in there for the 4th straight season. In fact, Oklahoma has been in the championship game, and won it, every season since it returned back in 2017. This will be the first appearance for the Iowa State Cyclones, so you do wonder if nerves might play a role here, although the limited number of fans in attendance might just keep those nerves at bay. The Sooners come into this one on a 6-game winning streak, although they did lose to Iowa State earlier in the season. This teams looks much better than they did in the opening couple of weeks, which is why I like Oklahoma to get revenge here.

LSU Tigers over Ole Miss Rebels

The fall off for the Tigers this season has been astonishing, going from National Champions to a team with a losing record in a matter of months. In fairness to the Tigers, they lost a lot of key personnel, including QB Joe Burrow, to the draft, so filling those holes was always going to be tough. It is probably not best to write this team off, though, as they proved last week with a win over Florida in a game that killed any shot the Gators had at a playoff spot. They will face an Ole Miss team that has win 3 in a row and who are always tough to stop on offense. The bookies have this as basically a toss-up, but I am going with LSU to close out their season with a home win.

Missouri Tigers over Mississippi State Bulldogs

The Missouri Tigers saw a great run of form come to an end with a thrashing at the hands of the Georgia Bulldogs last weekend. This was a team that had won 5 of 6 before that loss to the Dawgs, with their lone loss in that run coming at the hands of the Florida Gators, the SEC East Champions. It has been a disastrous season for the Bulldogs, who have just one win in their last 8 games, with that one coming against a Vanderbilt team that is struggling to put together a full squad ever week. The bookies have this one as being close, but I think the Tigers go on the road and win this one going away.
