The calendar turned to July, which means another step closer to the beginning of the 2021 college football season. A return to normalcy should be the headline for college football, with most stadiums returning to full capacity in the fall.

College Football Team Analysis Series – Top 6-10 Teams
Texas A&M Aggies (+1800)
The Aggies appear to be near the verge of college football elite heading into the 2021 campaign. Head coach Jimbo Fisher has amassed a slew of blue-chip talent with four waves of top recruiting classes.
Texas A&M will have a new quarterback under center for the first time in four seasons, but the Aggies welcome back nine starters on the SEC’s best defensive unit. Four starters are gone from the offensive line, but playmakers at running back and wide receiver return.
LSU Tigers (+2200)
Opt-outs hurt the 2019 national champions’ chances of a repeat success in 2020. The Tigers fielded one of the youngest rosters in division-1 football and faced the challenges of playing young talent all over the field.
Now, with experience all over back, the LSU Tigers return as one of the early favorites to capture the title. With new coaches on both sides of the ball and 16 starters returning, excitement returns to Baton Rouge in 2021.
Texas Longhorns (+2500)
The Longhorns haven’t lacked talent over the last few years but have been unable to put it all together for a myriad of reasons. Steve Sarkisian takes over head coaching duties and brought in a decorated coaching staff.
Texas will have a new signal-caller in 2021, but the Longhorns return sophomore running back Bijan Robinson, who set a school record for yards per carry (8.2) as a rookie last season. The Longhorns return plenty of talent on the defensive side of the ball to make noise in the Big 12 this fall.
Florida Gators (+2800)
Dan Mullen and the Florida Gators won the SEC East last season and nearly took down the Crimson Tide in the SEC Championship. Unfortunately, the Gators ended the season on a three-game losing skid and must find replacements for Kyle Trask, Kyle Pitts, and Kadarius Toney.
Emory Jones has waited in the wings and is eager to take over the duties at quarterback. The Gators backfield returns intact, along with a handful of playmakers at wide receiver and tight end. Florida’s defense needs to make considerable improvements in the offseason if the Gators want a shot at another SEC title.
Iowa State Cyclones (+3300)
The Cyclones return 19 of 22 starters from last season’s team that won the Fiesta Bowl and finished with a 9-3 record, including an 8-1 mark in conference play. Head coach Matt Campbell was a hot commodity in the offseason but turned down offers to coach a pair of Heisman candidates in quarterback Brock Purdy and running back Breece Hall.
Purdy stunned many by announcing his intentions to return to college and should be one of the top quarterbacks taken in next year’s NFL Draft. Hall was the school’s first-ever unanimous first-team All-American and led the nation in 100-year rushing games in 2020.
