The hopes are high for the 2023 Air Force Falcons as the College Football season rolls in. The Falcons are poised to challenge at the top of the Mountain West Conference.
There will certainly be some stiff tests along the way, but this Falcons team seems poised to be one of the best in school history.
The Falcons, under Troy Calhoun, have had three out of their last four winning seasons, with the lone exception coming in 2020, when they went 3-3.
The Falcons have won their last three bowl games as well. In fact, over the last four seasons, the Falcons are 34-11 and 20-8 in Mountain West Conference play. Calhoun has had just four losing seasons since he took over the job in 2007.
The 2023 team is coming in with the same mentality as last year. Run the football, take care of the ball, and play great team defense. Starting with the defense, Trey Taylor, Camby Goff, and Alec Mock all return, and that’s as good as it will be in the Mountain West.
On the offensive end, John Lee Eldridge is back after picking up nearly eight yards per game a season ago. Four offensive linemen return for the Falcons as well. The one question mark would be who else will get carries in the backfield after some departures from a season ago.
Let’s break down Air Force this year with MyBookie’s betting preview and college football lines to win the NCAA National Championship.

Falcon Stadium, USAF Academy, CO
The Week 1 affair for Air Force against Robert Morris is off the board. Robert Morris is not a College Football Playoff eligible team.
The Falcons would be big favorites and probably run the ball nearly every possession and put the game away quickly. When Air Force goes to Sam Houston in Week 2, they will likely be close to a double-digit favorite in that one.

Win the Mountain West Conference
Mountain West Conference Odds to Win: +410
Why can’t the Falcons win the Mountain West Conference? Sure, going to Boise State on the final game of the regular season is going to be a tough test, but at that point, who knows?
Air Force will be able to run the ball better than any team in the nation. This is a pretty interesting bet to make at +410. Only Boise State at +172 and Fresno State at +390 have shorter odds. Take a flyer on the Falcons!
