Analyzing the 2017 College Football Odds on Total Season Wins
There are going to be a ton of betting opportunities available once the season begins, but it’s possible to get the ball rolling now by looking at the season total OVER/UNDER wins for each team. This is always a tough bet, simply because many teams will have a host of new guys starting after a bunch of the previous crop graduated and headed off to the NFL. That said, we can still make some educated bets based on other factors, so let’s take a look at some of the teams who appear to be in position to hit or miss on their 2017 NCAAF win totals.Football. Miami Hurricanes (O/U 9)
When Mark Richt was the coach of the Georgia Bulldogs, he made a habit of winning 10 games per season, and he came close to hitting that mark in his first season with the Miami Hurricanes, taking his team to 9-4. He will have another year of recruiting under his belt, and it’s fair to assume that this team is going to take a step forward as opposed to going backwards. While the playoffs may still be a stretch for this group, I like them to hit at least 10 wins on the season. Take the OVER.Latest College Football Odds Trends

Missouri Tigers (O/U 6.5)
The SEC East may not be as brutal as the West, but there are still enough decent teams in there to make life miserable for the Missouri Tigers. This is a team that made the transition to the SEC game quite nicely. Even winning a couple of East titles, but they have fallen hard from the pace that they were setting a couple of years ago, and it could be argued that they are the worst team in the conference. I don’t see them really getting close to this win total, so I am taking the UNDER.Latest College Football Odds Trends

Alabama Crimson Tide (O/U 11)
This is a bit of a riskier bet, but it’s one that might well be worth taking. The Crimson Tide would need to go unbeaten to cross the win total set by the bookies, but they have a legitimate shot at doing just that. They have a tough opener against Florida State, but after that, all the games on their schedule can be best described as winnable. Let’s also not forget that Coach Saban is likely to still be stewing after losing the National Championship game last season. He will be demanding wins, so let’s go OVER.Latest College Football Odds Trends

Nebraska Cornhuskers (O/U 7)
This is another one that may be a little on the risky side, but which is definitely worth taking a chance on. The Cornhuskers won 9 games last season, but they lost a lot of players to the NFL, including their starting QB. They are going to look very different on the defensive side of the football this season, and with all those changes, winning regularly may be tough. They do have the benefit of playing in a Big Ten West division that is not particularly strong, so there is a better than average chance that they hit those 7 wins, and maybe more. Going with the OVER.Latest College Football Odds Trends
- 2017-18 Regular Season Wins: O 7 +100 / U 7 -130
- Odds to Win 2018 National Championship: +8000
- Odds to Win ACC Division: +1300
North Carolina Tar Heels (O/U 7)
This was the one win total that really jumped off the page at me when the bookies released the numbers for the season. The Tar Heels managed 8 wins in the 2016 season, but they were also decimated offensively after losing a number of players to the draft. The loss of QB Mitch Trubisky is a gap that is going to be very tough to fill, and I believe this team could be in some real trouble this season. I am definitely going UNDER with the Tar Heels.Latest College Football Odds Trends
