UT’s last regular-season Thursday game was a 41-3 win over Ole Miss on Oct. 3, 1996 in Memphis. The Vols were ranked No. 9 in that game as well Tennessee is 8-0 all-time against current members of the Sun Belt Conference. Jones is 6-3 in his career in season openers with an average margin of victory of 15.3 points per game. Jones is also 5-0 when opening the season at home.
