Texas Tech at TCU -8.5 I like TCU and believe there aren’t many better offensive-minded head coaches I all of college football better than the Horned Frogs’ Gary Patterson. Having said that, I’m genuinely expecting Texas Tech to have a surprise campaign behind their own genius of an offensive mind in Kliff Kingsbury – and more importantly – seriously underrated quarterback Pat Mahomes. The value in this matchup is with Texas Tech and I say the Texas Tech Red Raiders cover the spread in a flat-out thriller.

Michigan -2 at Michigan State Sure, Michigan State needed the miracle of all miracles in order to beat their in-state rivals a year ago, but with both teams playing new starting quarterbacks in 2016, I say the value in this Big 12 conference battle is with the Spartans to win and cash in at home…without any miracle this time.

Alabama at LSU -3 This annual SEC showdown is must-see TV no doubt, but Alabama has all the value with them after winning each of the last five meetings. I don’t even like Nick Saban, but I have no doubt the Tide will make it a half-dozen in a row by shutting down Leonard Fournette for the second straight season.

Stanford at Notre Dame -3 The Irish want some serious revenge for their crushing 38-36 road loss against Stanford last season, but unless they find a way to stop Heisman Trophy runner-up Christian McCaffery (they won’t) the Cardinals are the pick to cover the spread as a value-packed 3-point road dog!

BYU at Boise State -7 I have no idea why Boise State is a whopping 7-point home favorite over BYU with both teams posting identical 9-4 records a year ago. With two gifted quarterbacks on their roster, I believe the value clearly lies with BYU in this one! The Cougars cover while pushing the Broncos for the outright win!
