Three top ten teams fell in NCAAF Week 6.
10 Michigan lost to Washington the road, 1 Alabama fell to Vanderbilt in one of the most shocking upsets in at least a decade, and 4 Tennessee lost to a fired up Arkansas team.
The Wolverines are off this week.
The Tide and the Vols, though, will be looking for rebound victories in hopes of getting their potential championship seasons back on track.

Writer’s Picks for the Seventh Week of the NCAAF Season
Red River Rivalry between Longhorns and Sooners top game on Saturday
Saturday, October 12th, 2024
This Saturday is the annual Red River Rivalry between the Oklahoma Sooners and the Texas Longhorns.
In last season’s Triple R game, the Sooners upset Quinn Ewers and the Longhorns after Dillon Gabriel’s masterful last minute drive.
Gabriel now plays for the Oregon Ducks.
So a rally shouldn’t happen.
Texas will enter the fray a -14.5 favorite.
Oklahoma is a quality team but they shouldn’t handle what will be this week’s top rated program.
Longhorns cover in a game that shouldn’t display the drama close to what the 2023 game did.
NCAAF Picks: Texas Longhorns
Oregon gets Big Ten acid test in matchup with Ohio State in Columbus
Saturday, October 12th, 2024
For much of this NCAAF season, the Oregon Ducks have dominated inferior foes.
Oregon has a quality victory over the Boise State Broncos but other than rallying against Boise State, the Ducks have skated by.
Ohio State has done the same.
The Buckeyes have yet to play a game versus a ranked team.
The 35-7 win over Iowa in week 5 was nice, but the Hawkeyes aren’t even as good as they were in 2023.
This is a huge matchup.
If Ohio State can beat Oregon and cover the -3.5 spread they will be the legit top team in the nation.
The matchup happens in Autzen where the Ducks are tough to beat.
Almost as important as important for Oregon, which will climb into the top 5 on the AP Poll on week 7, is that the Ducks have begun to gel on both sides of the ball.
Oregon slapped Michigan State around in their last game.
Give the home dog a chance to win this one straight up.
NCAAF Picks: Ohio State
LSU gets a chance to climb back into the top 10 when facing Ole Miss
Saturday, October 12th, 2024
Since their opening game loss to USC, the LSU Tigers have gotten better and better.
Still, it’s hard to know where Brian Kelly’s team is because the wins came against Nicholls State, South Carolina, UCLA, and South Alabama.
Ole Miss got well in College Football Week 5.
In the previous week, Kentucky made the Rebels look silly.
Versus South Carolina, Lane Kiffin’s bunch beat a decent Gamecocks squad 27-3 on the road.
Mississippi is a -2.5 road favorite.
LSU is going to be tough in Baton Rouge.
Also, although South Carolina only scored 3, it’s tough to believe in Ole Miss’s defense.
The Baton Rouge Tigers win straight up.
NCAAF Picks: 2 Ohio State
Alabama hopes for big rebound versus South Carolina after historic Vandy loss
Saturday, October 12th, 2024
For the first time in 61 games versus a top 5 team, the Vanderbilt managed an incredible, unbelievable, amazing victory over the top team in the nation, the Alabama Crimson Tide.
The historic victory was easily one of the biggest upsets in recent college football history.
Vanderbilt takes on Kentucky on the road in this Saturday.
For Alabama, the loss isn’t devastating because the Tide can still win the SEC and score a ticket to the 12-Team College Football Playoff.
Bama must rebound this weekend versus South Carolina in a Tuscaloosa.
The Tide is a -20.5 favorite and should cover by around 30 considering Kalen DeBoer is going to get into his team big time this week.
NCAAF Picks: Alabama
USC can erase defeat to Minnesota with win over Penn State
Saturday, October 12th, 2024
So far, USC has struggled to prove they’re as good in the Big Ten as they were in the Pac 12.
In three Big Ten games, the Trojans are an awful 1-2 straight up.
The latest loss came against 2-3 Minnesota in a 24-17 game.
Trojan fans can’t blame the loss on USC’s D.
D’Anton Lynn has turned around the unit.
USC has yet to allow 30 points in a game.
The 27 points, which is the most the Trojans have allowed, came against Michigan in Ann Arbor.
USC’s offense hasn’t produced the way it should and that’s on head coach Lincoln Riley.
All will be forgotten if the Trojans can upset powerful Penn State.
The game happens in the L.A. Coliseum.
Although USC looked terrible against the Gophers, we must take the 3.5 points on the home squad because Penn State beat horrendous UCLA 27-11 in a game where they were favored by over 20.
NCAAF Picks: USC
Vols look to get back on winning track against Florida
Saturday, October 12th, 2024
Alabama should have beaten Vanderbilt in College Football Week 5 but Tennessee losing 19-14 to Arkansas makes sense.
Although the Razorbacks showed 2 losses on their record, both defeats were against decent opponents.
Arkansas lost 39-31 in overtime on the road against then 16 Oklahoma State and 21-17 to then 24 Texas A&M.
The Aggies blasted Missouri 41-10 in their last and lead the SEC with a 3-0 conference record.
No doubt, Tennessee is going to bounce back this Saturday.
Florida is playing well but the Volts almost rallied against Arkansas on the road and the Gators don’t have the offense that the Hogs possess.
Tennessee dominates Florida by much more than the -16.5 spread in a huge bounce back game.
NCAAF Picks: Tennessee

West Virginia Mountaineers at Houston Cougars

Despite going up against the National Football League for this one, this should be a fun one as well. Both teams have seen rosters full of offensive firepower, and both programs would love to score and score quickly. With a Thursday night game and the Cougars getting into the Big 12 for the first season, there is no doubt there will be a big crowd on hand at John O’Quinn Field. Coach Prime getting some primetime action against a perennial power program. Now, Stanford certainly has not been the former program they were, but they still will have guys that can play. These two teams, despite being conference opponents, have not played since 2020, and Colorado won that game. Stanford and Colorado are hoping to get football fans all fired up for the weekend with this Friday night ESPN affair. USC Trojans at Notre Dame Fighting Irish
Saturday, October 14th, 2023 at 7:30 p.m. ET
Notre Dame Stadium | Notre Dame, IN
Huge rivalry game. There is a chance both these teams will come into this game with unbeaten records. The Irish are looking to get back to the national powerhouse scale, and Lincoln Riley needs a trip to the national title game badly. USC on the road does not seem like a great recipe, but this is a must-follow. Notre Dame, at home, will likely be a favorite here.

This is a game that Ohio State should highlight. You can’t go unbeaten if you don’t win at West Lafayette in this game. The Buckeyes feel they have the talent to run the table, but this is going to be one that will prove to be a challenge. Can Purdue, as a home underdog, shock the College Football world here?

Games to Bet Big in NCAAF Week 7
Now, let’s take a look at a few games that you suggest betting on this coming weekend.
3 Ohio State Buckeyes at Purdue Boilermakers | BET BIG
NCAAF Odds: Ohio State -19.5 / Ohio State -1204; Purdue +680 / O/U 50
Friday, October 13th, 2023 at 8:00 PM | ACCN
Ross-Ade Stadium, West Lafayette, IN
The Buckeyes struggled against Maryland last week but still came away with a cover. The Boilermakers are not as good as the Terrapins.
Look for Ohio State to come out more focused in this game and easily win. Ohio State is still one of the best teams in the country, and they will show that here.

Friday, October 13th, 2023 at 8:00 PM | ACCN
Boone Pickens Stadium, Stillwater, OK
Kansas has just one loss, and that was to Texas. That score did not look close, but the Jayhawks played that game well. Oklahoma State is coming off a home win on Friday over Kansas State.
But that magic is ending here, as the Jayhawks are better and more physical. Kansas does not fall into the road trap. The Jayhawks win and cover here.

Wallace Wade Stadium, Durham, NC
No team took a more embarrassing loss last week than the Miami Hurricanes. That is a type of loss that can send your entire season sideways.
Now, the North Carolina are next on the schedule. This is going to be a tough test that will likely not go well for the Hurricanes. Miami simply cannot keep up offensively enough to cover the spread here. Bet the Tar Heels.

Friday, October 13th, 2023 at 8:00 PM | ACCN
Wallace Wade Stadium, Durham, NC
Lincoln Riley and Caleb Williams had their scare. Look for them to bounce back against an exhausted Fighting Irish team.
A stretch of Ohio State, Duke, Louisville, and now USC show that the schedule is too much for Marcus Freeman and his boys. The Trojans roll on the road in this game on Saturday and win as the underdog.

Games to Avoid in NCAAF Week 7
Now, let’s take a look at a few games that you suggest avoiding on when betting this coming weekend.
17 Duke Blue Devils over North Carolina State WolfPack | AVOID

Friday, October 13th, 2023 at 8:00 PM | ACCN
Wallace Wade Stadium, Durham, NC
A combination of a banged-up Duke team that wins with their defense against a defensive-minded, low-scoring NC State team has all the ingredients to stay away.
It would not be a surprise if the WolfPack won this game as an underdog, but they are a team that is hard to trust. Stay away from this ACC affair.

Friday, October 13th, 2023 at 7:00 PM | PAC12
Gesa Field, Pullman, WA
Two of the best teams in College Football and the best two offensive teams getting together. This is a monster game and one that could decide the Pac-12 Champion.
Michael Penix Jr against Bo Nix. This is one to stay away from. Both teams are full of talent, and this could go either way. If we had to lean, it would be with the home team, but too close to call. Stay away.

Friday, October 13th, 2023 at 7:00 PM | PAC12
Gesa Field, Pullman, WA
Another game to stay away from. Arizona has been a pain for some of the best teams in the league in the last two weeks.
This is another one of those games where they stick around from start to finish. It’s best to just watch and stay away from betting on this game.

Friday, October 13th, 2023 at 6:30 PM | CW NETWORK
Acrisure Stadium, Pittsburgh, PA
This is an easy letdown-type game. Everyone is doubting the Louisville Cardinals, and now, after a big win over Notre Dame, they have to play on the road. Pittsburgh is one of those teams that can hang in games and find a way at the end.
Look for a tight game here and one that will be better to watch than bet on.

Previous Betting News
Bowl Subdivision
While the College Football Playoff is dominating most postseason NCAAF betting conversations, there is another battle going on: how to find enough 6-6 teams to fill the 80 bowl spots. There are only 62 bowl-eligible teams in FBS right now. The NCAA agreement with bowls mean that the games will go on, even if there aren’t 80 teams with six victories, but the issue becomes how to hand out those slots to the 5-7 teams. According to the NCAA bylaws, the APR is the tiebreaker when 5-7 teams come into play. However, if a bowl game is supposed to have the Pac-12 and the Big Ten, can they choose a team from, say, the Big 12 with a higher APR than a 5-7 Pac-12 team, or do they have to remain true to their conference affiliation? The top two teams who are likely going to end up 5-7 in terms of APR are Utah State and Nebraska, but it could also devolve into a situation where bowls give out bids to schools that have the potential of delivering the most fans traveling to the host city.
Holy War!
This week Boston College takes on Notre Dame in a home game away from home, as the tilt is set to take place at Boston’s Fenway Park, the home of the Boston Red Sox. Fenway also hosts high school playoff games, so this won’t be the first time that the field has seen football teams on the field. However, if ou take a look at the stadium, you’ll see that there are some tight points, such as the corner of one end zone and the third-base dugout:
Notre Dame and BC will both be wearing special uniforms for this latest installment in the Shamrock Series. The Irish togs are a bright green, while BC will be wearing throwback uniforms to the days of Doug Flutie. Who modeled the look? Flutie himself, of course.
Connor Cook
Michigan State has its moment of truth this Saturday as they head to Columbus to take on the Ohio State Buckeyes. Connor Cook, the Spartans’ quarterback, has been fighting shoulder injuries, but he told ESPN, “My shoulder is good. I’m going to be ready to go, so there is no issue with that.” Last week, he hurt his throwing shoulder as the Spartans beat Maryland, but his numbers suffered. He went 6 for 20 for just 77 yards and a pic. For the season, he has gone 175 for 311 and 2,482 yards and 21 touchdowns against only four interceptions. He has a passer rating of 143.02. He did have an X-ray early this week but has not yet revealed the results.
Tom Herman
First-year head coach Tom Herman has the Houston Cougars playing at a terrific 10-0 clip. Herman is one of the best upcoming coaches in the nation, and he still hasn’t even finished his first season yet. However, his name is now appearing in conversations about some of the biggest coaching vacancies in the nation. Houston knows that they have a real chance to lose their coach, so the university is now looking for opportunities to ink Herman to one of the most generous deals in the nation.
College Football Week 7 Betting Predictions: Best Losers Picks to Wager On
It’s Week 7 of the college football season, and conference matchups hold a lot of importance this time of the season. This week, there are a lot of great matchups in store for college football fans. We’ve found a couple of games where we think we’ve discovered our sure losers of the week. Let’s take a look at those two games so you can get ready to bet against their NCAA Football Lines.
Who Will Be the Big Losers In Week 7 of the 2022 College Football Season?
Kansas Jayhawks @ Oklahoma Sooners (-7)
In looking at this spread, it seems a little strange. While we’re unsure of the status of Kansas quarterback Jalon Daniels for this one, it’s still a little intriguing that the Sooners are 7-point favorites. They’ve lost three straight, and while they were to three good teams, they were embarrassed in the last two. TCU beat them by 31, and in the Red River Shootout against their hated rivals, the Texas Longhorns, Oklahoma was shut out 49-0.
Enter the Kansas Jayhawks. They were undefeated heading into last weekend’s matchup with TCU. Daniels left the game in the second quarter, and although they lost, the Jayhawks had a chance to tie the game on a late drive. This team is for real, and Lance Leipold has done a tremendous job of rebuilding one of the worst programs in college football into a Big 12 contender.
There will be a lot of offense in this one. Kansas can score points in bunches, as they have one of the top offenses in the country. However, they can give up a lot of points as well. It’s obvious that Venables hasn’t been able to work his defensive magic with the Oklahoma Sooners, as they’ve given up a boatload of points over the last three weeks.
Even if the Sooners win this one, it will only be by a slight margin. We still like the Jayhawks to win the game outright.
Baylor Bears @ West Virginia Mountaineers (+3.5)
In this Thursday night affair, the Baylor Bears will come off of their bye week and head to Morgantown, to take on the West Virginia Mountaineers, who were also idle last weekend. Baylor comes into this one with a 3-2 mark. Their two losses have come at BYU, and against Oklahoma State. The Cowboys are still undefeated, and sit atop the Big 12 standings.
While the Ok State loss was tough, the Bears still had a great showing, putting up 25 points, with 345 yards through the air.
West Virginia is 2-3. They’ve played a tough schedule thus far, losing tight ones to Pitt, Kansas, and Texas. Quarterback JT Daniels has looked impressive at times, but lackluster at others. Needless to say, this is a big one for West Virginia. If they can sneak out a win in this one, it would be huge for their program.
With all of that being said, even though it will be a prime-time game on national television, we just don’t think that the Mountaineers have enough in them to beat Baylor. It’ll be a close one, but the Bears will pull away late and win by a touchdown. Unfortunately, West Virginia is one of our sure losers of the week.

NCAA Football Week 7 Betting Predictions: Best Winner Picks
Previous Betting News
It’s Week 7 of the college football season, and every matchup becomes increasingly important. After looking over this week’s slate of games, we’ve found two games where we think we’ve found a sure winner. Let’s take a look at each of those games, and we’ll give you our College Football Betting predictions.
Sure Winners For Week 7 of the 2022 Season | College Football Betting Picks
Florida State Seminoles @ Clemson Tigers (-7.5)
Last weekend could’ve been the breakthrough game that the Florida State Seminoles were looking for. They held a 17-3 halftime lead over North Carolina State at halftime. Unfortunately for Mike Norvell’s squad, they couldn’t score in the second half and ended up losing 19-17, in one of the more disappointing losses of the season for Florida State.
Coming off of this heartbreaking defeat, they’ll now head back home to host the undefeated Clemson Tigers. Clemson is coming off of a nice stretch of wins where they defeated Wake Forest and North Carolina State, and last weekend they beat Boston College by a score of 31-3.
Although he struggled early in the season, quarterback DJ Uiagalelei has looked better as of late. He has been much better in the passing game, and the Clemson offense has put up at least 30 points in each of its victories this season.
In looking at the betting numbers, they both have good records against the spread in ACC games and with the home/road splits, so those aren’t giving us much help. We just think that Clemson is the better team, and coming off of last week’s demoralizing loss, the Seminoles just won’t have it in them to keep up with the Tigers.
Thus, we’re making the Clemson Tigers one of our sure winners of the week. Clemson will cover the 7.5-point spread and will beat Florida State 34-24 to win and cover.
Penn State Nittany Lions @ Michigan Wolverines (-7)
Two undefeated Big 10 East teams will collide on Saturday, as Penn State will enter the Big House to take on Jim Harbaugh’s Michigan Wolverines. This game is huge for both teams, as a loss would almost knock them out of contention for a Big 10 title.
Penn State relies heavily on its rushing attack. The Nittany Lions are averaging nearly 200 yards per game on the ground. Defensively, they’re only giving up just over 14 points per game.
They have played a rather soft schedule, so that could be a reason why they’re giving up so few points. Their pass defense is rated 100th in the country, so they do struggle against passing teams.
The Michigan Wolverines haven’t seemed to miss a beat from last season. While they lost many key pieces from last year’s team, they’ve just reloaded. They haven’t lost a game at home since November of the 2020 season.
Their offense is firing on all cylinders, as they can beat you on the ground or in the air. Defensively, they have one of the top defensive units in the country. They’re only giving up an average of just over 11 points per game. They’re allowing just under 250 yards of total offense per game.
Michigan is seventh in scoring offense in the country, and they can beat you in numerous ways. While taking Penn State and the seven points is tempting, we feel that the Wolverines are the better team, and they’ll win this all-important matchup. The Wolverines win by at least 10, making them our other sure winner of the week.

NCAAF Precise Betting Picks for Week 7 of the 2021 Season
Previous Betting News
Every week this season, college football has produced huge matchups. Week 7 is no different. On Friday, Clemson tries to salvage their season in a game versus the tough Syracuse Orange. Then on Saturday, Cincinnati hosts rival Central Florida, Auburn is on the road versus Arkansas and Georgia takes on undefeated Kentucky in Athens. Check out NCAAF odds, analysis, and free picks for this week’s sharp college football bets.
NCAAF Week 7: Sharp College Football Betting Picks of the Week
Clemson -14 vs Syracuse
When: Friday, Oct. 15
Clemson doesn’t have it this season. The Tigers are a ridiculously bad 0-5 against the spread. Syracuse is a fantastic 5-1 ATS. In their last, the Orange forced overtime with top ACC team Wake Forest. Syracuse battles Clemson on their field. So the Orange should do enough to keep this within the number.
NCAAF Week 7 Pick: Syracuse
UCF vs Cincinnati -20 ½
When: Saturday, Oct. 16
Cincinnati is on a roll. The #4 team in the nation has covered in every game this season save for a battle versus Murray State. The Bearcats could have covered but Luke Fickell pulled his starters. Cincinnati is as good as any team in the Top 5, including #1 Georgia. The Bearcats continue dominating because they know that’s the only way to impress the selection committee.
NCAAF Week 7 Pick: Cincinnati
Auburn vs Arkansas -3 ½
When: Saturday, Oct. 16
Versus Mississippi on the road in NCAAF Week 6, Arkansas played too good to lose. The Razorbacks went for the two-point conversion instead of forcing overtime. That cost Arkansas the victory. On Saturday, the Hogs play a team that matches up well with them. Auburn runs as well as Arkansas and plays defense just as well. The Razorbacks could take a backward step after the tough loss to Ole Miss. Auburn moneyline is the play.
NCAAF Week 7 Pick: Auburn moneyline
Texas A&M -9 vs Missouri
When: Saturday, Oct. 16
After upsetting mighty Alabama 41-38, it will be tough for the Aggies to get up against Missouri. Luckily for A&M and their fans, Mizzou might have the worst defense in the nation. Missouri’s D is so bad it allowed then 1-3 North Texas to drop 35 in a 48-35 win. Mizzou is 0-6 ATS. Aggies roll.
NCAAF Week 7 Pick: Texas A&M
Kentucky vs Georgia -23
When: Saturday, Oct. 16
The number one team in the nation faces one of the more inspired programs in the SEC. Kentucky is as solid of a football team as any Georgia will face during the regular season. The Wildcats remained undefeated after destroying LSU 42-21 in their last. Kentucky blasted LSU a week after upsetting Florida 20-13. If you can find a moneyline, consider. Taking the +23 is a no-brainer.
NCAAF Week 7 Pick: Kentucky
Arizona vs Colorado -6 ½
When: Saturday, Oct. 16
We called the Northern Arizona upset victory over Arizona. However, we must admit that Bear Down is a better squad than we thought. The defense isn’t horrible. It’s very good against the pass. U of A’s offense is a mess. But, and we’re being honest here, Colorado’s offense might be worse. The Buffalos average less than 14 points per. Zona averages over 16 each game. If Arizona is going to win a game this season, it will happen on Saturday. Arizona straight up.
NCAAF Week 7 Pick: Arizona
BYU vs Baylor -6
When: Saturday, Oct. 16
Last Saturday, Boise State handed BYU their first loss of the season. This Saturday, the Cougars should lose their second game of the season. Baylor is a good football team. Gerry Bohanon is one of the better quarterbacks in the Big 12. Baylor should cover this spread no problem.
NCAAF Week 7 Pick: Baylor
Mississippi -3 vs Tennessee
When: Saturday, Oct. 16
So Ole Miss escapes Arkansas at home and suddenly they’re a 3-point favorite over a decent Volunteers squad in Tennessee? The Vols average 41.5 points per. On Saturday, the Rebels won’t have their fans behind them. Instead, they’ll have to play in front of 100,000 screaming Tennesseans. Vols moneyline is the best play.
NCAAF Week 7 Pick: Tennessee Volunteers
Air Force vs Boise State -4
When: Saturday, Oct. 16
No doubt, Boise State could suffer a let down after upsetting BYU in their last. Not only that, but the Air Force Falcons are 5-1 SU and 4-2 ATS. Air Force has a shot to win this game, but we’ll take the points.
NCAAF Week 7 Pick: Air Force
Arizona State vs Utah pk
When: Saturday, Oct. 16
Both offenses can light up the scoreboard. The Sun Devils have a slightly better defense, though. Since Pac-12 play started, Arizona State has dominated. Utah will fight hard but in the end, ASU’s D leads them to victory.
NCAAF Week 7 Pick: Arizona State

Pretty chalk weekend around NCAA Football in Week 6 so no major changes on the odds to win the national championship. Here are two games for College Football Week 7 that could have College Football Playoff implications.
2019 College Football Week 7 Odds, Overview & Picks
Florida State at No. 2 Clemson (-26)
When: Saturday, 3:30 PM ET
TV: ABC
Used to be the ACC’s best rivalry but Florida State has fallen on hard times and Clemson is now miles ahead as witnessed by last year’s 59-10 blowout win in Tallahassee. Trevor Lawrence threw four touchdown passes, and the Tigers handed Florida State its worst home loss in program history. It was also the most points allowed by the Seminoles at Doak Campbell Stadium. No ACC team had ever knocked off the Noles four years in a row until Clemson did last year.
In addition, Clemson is riding an 18-game home winning streak. FSU knows how hard it is to play there, having won in “Death Valley” just three times in the last 20 years (1999, 2001 and 2013).
FSU has been off since beating NC State 31-13 on Sept. 28. Starting in place of the injured James Blackman, quarterback Alex Hornibrook threw for 316 yards and three touchdowns for the Seminoles. The Noles have won consecutive ACC games for the first time in nearly three years.
Some Numbers
FSU’s offense is averaging 33.2 points per game, has finished short of the 30-point mark just once and has one of the nation’s leading rushers in junior Cam Akers. NC State’s 13 points last week were the fewest for an FSU opponent since Southern Mississippi in the 2017 Independence Bowl (also 13), and the Seminoles have vaulted 62 places in the national run defense rankings – up from 121st three weeks ago to 59th after limiting the Wolfpack to 88 rushing yards. Not yet clear if Blackman will play this week or if he even still has the starting job.
Clemson also last played on Sept. 28, beating North Carolina 21-20. The Tigers stopped North Carolina on a two-point conversion attempt with less than two minutes remaining. Trevor Lawrence connected with Tee Higgins on a 38-yard touchdown with nine minutes remaining in the fourth quarter to give the Tigers their first lead of the game. Lawrence finished 18-30 passing for 206 yards and a career best 45 rushing yards. Higgins hauled in six receptions for 129 receiving yards and a touchdown. The close call knocked Clemson from No. 1 in the polls, though.
No. 6 Oklahoma vs. No. 11 Texas (+10)
When: Saturday, noon ET
TV: Fox
Live Stream: Fox Sports Go
Game of the Year in the Big 12 and per usual held at the neutral-site Cotton Bowl in Dallas. These schools split last year. Texas pulled the regular season upset but then Oklahoma got payback in the Big 12 title game. Decent chance they play in this year’s conference title game too as both will be favored in games the rest of the regular season.
Oklahoma is off a 45-20 win at Kansas. Heisman Trophy hopeful Jalen Hurts threw for 228 yards and two touchdowns while running for two more. Rhamondre Stevenson added 109 yards rushing and a score on just five carries. It was OU’s 22nd straight true road win, the second-longest streak since at least World War II in major college football. Bud Wilkinson’s Sooners won 25 from 1953-58.
OU has won 36 of its last 38 games (.947) against Big 12 opponents dating back to the 2015 season. Twenty-one of those 36 victories have been by at least 15 points. The Sooners have scored at least 34 points in 15 consecutive games (and in 26 of the last 27 outings). It is the longest streak in school history and tied for the third longest nationally since at least 1980.
By holding Kansas to 20 points, Oklahoma extended its streak of limiting opponents to 20 or fewer points to four games. It’s the longest same-season streak since 2006 when the Sooners beat Iowa State 34-9, Colorado 24-3, No. 23 Missouri 26-10 and No. 21 Texas A&M 17-16 in consecutive games.
What about the Longhorns?
Texas was a 42-31 winner Saturday at West Virginia. The Longhorns defense intercepted four passes that led to a total of 21 points. The Longhorns’ four interceptions marked the first time that UT has picked off four passes in a game since the Horns did so at Kansas on Sept. 27, 2014 (64 games).
Sam Ehlinger accounted for four total touchdowns (2 rush/2 pass) for the fourth time this season and the eighth time in his career. Roschon Johnson recorded the first 100-yard game of his career, as he finished with career highs in carries (21) and rushing yards (121).
Oklahoma enters the game with a 76.1 percent chance to win the Big 12 Conference, according to ESPN’s FPI rankings. Texas only has a 9.9 percent chance to win the conference.

The Oklahoma Sooners were torched Saturday in a loss to Texas in the Red River Showdown, 48-45, and that has cost defensive coordinator Mike Stoops his job. Ruffin McNeill, who had been the Sooners’ assistant head coach and defensive tackles coach, will serve as the defensive coordinator for the rest of the season. The Sooners are off this week but here are two interesting matchups with the latest NCAA Football Week 7 odds.
NCAA Football Week 7 Odds, Overview & Top Picks
No. 15 Wisconsin at No. 12 Michigan (-7.5)
When: Saturday, 7:30 PM ET (ABC)
Could be a Big Ten Championship Game preview, more so if Michigan wins this game because Wisconsin plays in the weaker West Division and could still roll through that even with a loss Saturday. Both are unbeaten in Big Ten play but have a non-conference loss so another defeat ends the College Football Playoff hopes of the loser.
Wisconsin comes off a 42-24 win over Nebraska in which starting safety Scott Nelson was ejected for targeting, meaning he will have to sit out the first half here. Badgers head coach Paul Chryst announced on Monday that redshirt sophomore Eric Burrell will start at free safety. Because the targeting penalty occurred in the second half of the game, Nelson will not be eligible to play until the third quarter of the Badgers’ matchup against the Wolverines. Cornerbacks Deron Harrell (upper body) and Caesar Williams (left leg), defensive end Isaiah Loudermilk (left leg), and outside linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel (right leg) are all questionable for the game.
Wisconsin star Jonathan Taylor is the nation’s leading rusher (169.8 ypg) and has piled up 849 rushing yards so far this season That’s more than 40 FBS teams. Taylor ran for 221 yards and three scores, including a career-best 88-yarder in the fourth quarter, to lead the win over the Huskers. Taylor now has 2,826 career rushing yards, passing Rufus Ferguson for 14th on UW’s all-time rushing chart.
The Badgers won their 17th straight regular-season Big Ten game, the nation’s longest active conference win streak. It is also the longest league win streak in UW history. Wisconsin is 31-5 (.861) in Big Ten play over the last 5 seasons (since 2014). Only Ohio State (34-3, .919) has a better league record over that span.
Michigan beat Maryland 42-21 on Saturday. Quarterback Shea Patterson threw for 282 yards and three touchdowns. The offense racked up 465 yards, had 24 first downs and went 9-of-13 on third down. Tailback Karan Higdon tallied his fourth consecutive with 100 rushing yards — he had 103 on Saturday — and became the 23rd player in Michigan history to eclipse 2,000 career rushing yards. Tight end Zach Gentry was the leading receiver, hauling in seven passes for 112 yards. Defensively, Michigan limited Maryland to just 42 yards of total offense in the first half and allowed only 11 first downs for the game.
No. 7 Washington at No. 17 Oregon (+3.5)
When: Saturday, 3:30 PM ET (ABC)
A huge one in the Pac-12 North Division – if Washington wins here, you can all but give that division to the Huskies. The Huskies held off UCLA, 31-24, Saturday in Pasadena. Myles Gaskin rushed for 116 yards and two touchdowns, and Jake Browning passed for 265 yards. Browning completed 18 of 26 passes with one TD and one interception. The senior also ran for a score as Washington won in its first trip to the Rose Bowl in five years.
Gaskin scored his 54th career touchdown against UCLA, extending his school record. His 50 career rushing TDs (he has four receiving TDs) rank 5th in Pac-12 history. Since the 1947 season, Washington is 214-66-3 (.761) when a Husky player rushes for 100 yards in a game. The Huskies were 8-0 in such games in 2016, were 5-1 in 2017 and are 2-0 this year.
Washington has always been one of the Pac-12’s best defenses under head coach Chris Petersen. This year is no different. The Huskies lead the conference in points allowed on defense at 13.7 points per game.
Washington leads the all-time series against the Ducks with 60 wins, 45 losses, and five ties. In games played in Eugene has the Ducks enjoy a 17-13 edge all-time (Oregon’s home games vs. the UW were played in Portland for many years), while the Huskies are 32-21-4 against their cross-border rivals in games played in Seattle. The Ducks have had the edge of late, winning 17 of the last 23 against the Dawgs. Last year, UW’s Dante Pettis broke the NCAA record with his ninth career punt return for a TD and the UW held Oregon to just 31 passing yards in a 38-3 UW win.
Oregon comes off its bye week, which allowed several injured Oregon Ducks to recover from injuries, including starting defensive end Austin Faoliu, who will return for this week’s game. Oregon coach Mario Cristobal said Faoliu is “good to go” after missing the game at Cal due to a foot injury, starting tight end Jacob Breeland is also expected back this week and running back Darrian Felix “should be back” Tuesday or Wednesday. Faoliu started the first four games of the season and has 15 tackles with .5 sacks. Breeland, who missed the Cal game for precautionary reasons, has seven catches for 131 yards and two touchdowns this season.
Expert NCAA Football Week 7 Picks
Washington wins in Eugene and Michigan covers vs. UW.
2018 NCAA Football Week 7 Betting Picks
Previous Betting News
As we head into the second half of the season, things should really be starting to take shape in the conference and playoff races. The pressure really starts to build from here on out, as we are now just a couple of weeks away from the Playoff Committee releasing their first rankings of the season. There are some big games on the schedule that could have an impact on those rankings, so let’s get to the top games to bet on during the 2018 NCAA Football Week 7.
2018 NCAA Football Week 7 Betting Picks
ACC
Miami Hurricanes at Virginia Cavaliers – Both of these teams finished last season on a low note, but it was Miami’s collapse at the end that was the most painful. The Hurricanes were 10-0 heading into the final game of the season, which they lost to Pitt.
They then lost in the ACC Championship Game and their bowl game, bringing a disappointing end to what was a promising season. Miami pounded Virginia when they met in 2017, which was part of a losing run that saw the Cavaliers lose 6 of their last 7, including their bowl game. Look for the Hurricanes to win big again this year.
Big 12
Texas Tech Red Raiders at TCU Horned Frogs – A good week for college football fans, as we will be treated to a Thursday night game with this one. Texas Tech is always a fun team to watch, as there is generally a lot of offense involved in the games that they play.
The lone exception to that rule in 2017 came in their game against TCU when they were held to just 3 points in a 27-3 loss. The Red Raiders will be out for revenge but will be in tough against a Horned Frogs team that looks set to have another very good season.
Big Ten
Wisconsin Badgers at Michigan Wolverines – This one ranks up there as one of the best games on the Week 7 schedule, as it features a pair of teams who believe they have a legitimate shot at the Big Ten title. The Badgers lost just one game season, but it came at the worst time, as their loss in the Conference Championship Game almost certainly cost them a playoff spot.
The Wolverines are looking for a bounce back year after having a disappointing time of it in 2017. I think we have a low scoring affair here, which Michigan coming out on top at home.
PAC 12
Washington Huskies at Oregon Ducks – It’s probably not right to call one of the favorites to win the PAC 12 a dark horse, but when you are talking about the bigger picture, that is where the Washington Huskies sit right now.
I like this team a lot and think they have the opportunity to win the conference and get a PAC 12 team back in the playoffs after the conference missed out in 2017. This will be one of the trickier games on the schedule for Washington, but I like them to get the win.
SEC
Georgia Bulldogs at LSU Tigers – The Bulldogs are the favorites to once again win the East Division, but they have some very tough games on their schedule this season.
A trip to face LSU in their own backyard is never an easy one to make, and while there are some questions about the Tigers on both sides of the ball this season, they are still going to be tough to break down at home. This could well be a tight one, but I think Georgia ekes out the win.
College Football Week 7 Top Games to Bet On
Previous Betting News
Week 7 of the college football season is basically the half point of the regular season. The week begins on Wednesday, Oct. 11. By the end of it, we should have a Heisman Trophy front-runner. Lamar Jackson was largely in control by Week 7 last year. Here are two must-bet games on the College Football Week 7 schedule this year and my projected odds.
College Football Week 7 Top Games to Bet On
Georgia Tech Yellowjackets at Miami Hurricanes
When: Thursday, Oct. 12, 8 PM ET Where: Hard Rock Stadium, Miami TV: ESPN Stream: WatchESPN Radio: 93.7 FM (Georgia Tech) / WQAM 560 AM (Miami) Opening College Football Week 7 Lines: Miami -7
The Hurricanes are a program on the rise after winning nine games in Coach Mark Richt’s first season, easily beating a good West Virginia team in the bowl game and finishing in the Top 25. If quarterback Brad Kaaya hadn’t turn pro a year early, this would be a preseason Top 10 team. It will still be ranked somewhere in the Top 20. Georgia Tech also finished 9-4 last season, likely saving the job of Coach Paul Johnson.
Neither coach knows who is starting QB will be to open the season. Johnson said the starting quarterback competition was Matthew Jordan’s to lose. Jordan, who injured foot in the spring, will be completely healthy for the start of spring practice. But Johnson also expressed confidence in redshirt freshmen Jay Jones and Luke Johnson, saying they “may actually be the most talented kids we’ve had at Georgia Tech since I’ve been there at quarterback.”
Who Will Start for the Hurricanes?
UM could start a true freshman in N’Kosi Perry even though he didn’t enroll until this summer. He’s the most heralded QB recruit on the team and a dual threat, which Richt wants. Richt named Evan Shirreffs, the tall (6-foot- 5, 215 pounds) redshirt sophomore, and redshirt junior Malik Rosier the co-No. 1s after UM’s final spring scrimmage April 22 – but Perry wasn’t on campus yet and is much more athletic than those two. It should be noted that Kaaya started as a true freshman three years ago, but that was more out of necessity due to injury. The Canes were 6-7.
Miami won at Georgia Tech 35-21 last year. Shaquille Quarterman and Joe Jackson each returned fumbles by Georgia Tech quarterback Justin Thomas for touchdowns in a span of less than a minute in the second quarter. Thomas has moved on. Richt improved to 14-0 against Georgia Tech in Atlanta, including an 8-0 record at Georgia and 5-0 as an assistant at Florida State.
Odds to Win 2018 National Championship: +7000
Odds to Win ACC Conference: +650
2017-18 Regular Season Wins: O 9 -130 / U 9 +100
Expert College Football Week 7 Prediction
If the Hurricanes get just decent play at QB this season, they are loaded. Take Miami.
Auburn Tigers at LSU Tigers
When: Saturday, Oct. 14, TBA
Where: Tiger Stadium, Baton Rouge
Opening College Football Week 7 Lines: LSU -3
Alabama is heavy favorite to win the SEC West again and will be the No. 1 team in the preseason polls yet again. I’m not sure the Tide can be beaten in the SEC. However, its main competition in the division likely will be the winner of this game. Ole Miss is going to be way down in the wake of the Hugh Freeze mess and no postseason play. Arkansas, Texas A&M should be decent and Mississippi State fighting to avoid the cellar.
LSU has perhaps the best running back in the country – even with Leonard Fournette gone – in Derrius Guice. He accounted for 38 percent of his team's scrimmage touchdowns last season, the third-highest rate among Power 5 players last season. And that’s with Fournette still around. Despite being behind the No. 4 overall pick, Guice started six games and ran for 1,387 yards. This season he's the starter and will get more than 183 carries.
Who Will Be the Starting QB for the Tigers?
Auburn has yet to decide on a starting QB, but it likely will be Baylor transfer Jarrett Stidham. Coach Gus Malzahn has compared this offense’s potential to the 2013 club that he first coached. That club averaged more than 38 points a game, 501 yards per game and led the nation with 328 rushing yards per game. Running back Tre Mason was a Heisman Trophy finalist at (1,816 yards and 23 touchdowns), while quarterback Nick Marshall averaged 234.2 yards of offense per game, as a 1,000-yard passer and rusher. Auburn lost in the national title game to Florida State that season.
LSU lost at Auburn 18-13 last year. Daniel Carlson kicked six field goals and Auburn won after officials ruled Danny Etling's apparent last-gasp scoring pass came after time expired. Etling rolled to his right and found D.J. Shark in the back of the end zone on a 15-yard pass, setting off a short-lived celebration by LSU players. That would be the final game as LSU coach for Les Miles.
Expert College Football Week 7 Prediction
Frankly, the best bet here when the total is released might be the under as it likely will be another defensive battle. But take the home Tigers on the spread.

Here’s A Closer Look At The College Football Sharp Expert Picks For Week 7
Kansas at Baylor (-35), Saturday, October 15, 3:30 PM ET
NCAAF Pick: Kansas (+35)
Kansas Jayhawks has been a bad Power Five team for as long as we can remember, but the team has been playing decently enough of late. Last week, for example, they hanged pretty well against TCU, suffering a narrow 24-23 loss to the Horned Frogs despite being pegged as 29-point underdogs. Based on these newfound improvements, we don’t see the Jayhawks giving up as many as 35 points to the Baylor team that has been playing conservatively this season. New head coach Jim Grobe is a man who prefers to build a lead and then just scrimmage out wins, a fact that is affirmed by Baylor’s ridiculously bad record against the spread this season (1-4 ATS in its 5 games). Not to forget, Baylor’s defense has been rather porous in Big 12 play where they have allowed 66 points in their two games against Oklahoma State and Iowa State. This should almost certainly allow quarterback Shane Buechele opportunities to lead the Jayhawks into a decent number of scoring drives. Oh, and the look-ahead factor of wanting to stay healthy ahead of the tests at Oklahoma and West Virginia could also factor in here, with Grobe probably resting his key starters to avoid injuries, fatigue and all. So, as bad as the Jayhawks have been in the past, our experts strongly believe the ATS value here will be with KU.
Alabama (-12.5) at Tennessee, Saturday, October 15, 3:30 PM ET
NCAAF Pick: Alabama (-12.5)
Here comes the overrated Volunteers. There goes their unbeaten record. That was pretty much the story-line of Tennessee’s loss to A&M last week. And it doesn’t get any easier for the Vols who’ve lost 12 straight to the SEC West (including last week’s loss to Texas A&M) and will going against the best in the West in Alabama this week. And then there is the biggest elephant in the room: Alabama is 9-1 SU and 7-3 ATS in last 10 overall vs. Tennessee. Add to the fact that the Vols are perpetual slow starters with turnover problems while the Tide defense feeds on turnovers and doesn’t allow teams back into games that easily after big leads; we don’t need to stress the obvious point that Bama (6-0 SU, 4-2 ATS) is highly likely to cruise to a big win over the iffy Vols (5-1 SU, 3-3 ATS).
North Carolina at Miami-FL (-7), Saturday, October 15, 3:30 PM ET
NCAAF Pick: Miami (-7)
The Hurricanes (4-1 SU and ATS) suffered their first loss of the season last week, falling 20-19 to Florida State. The Canes did, however, show plenty of positives on the field in the respectable loss to FSU. Against a North Carolina team that suffered an embarrassing 34-3 home loss to Virginia Tech, you’d be taking a big risk by putting your money on the Tar Heels here. In fact, according to most sharps, the only reason this line appears to be high is that most books want to fool UNC supporters into thinking that their team will be getting something on this game so that they can bank their money on North Carolina. Don’t be fooled, folks; if V-Tech was able to make light work of North Carolina (of course with a bit of some help from Elijah Hood’s injury and Hurricane Matthew), then the stellar Miami defense–that abused FSU quarterback Deondre Francois all night last week–should be able to do the same if not better. Throw in quarterback Brad Kaaya and his efficient dual-back tandem of Mark Walton and Joe Yearby into the Miami mix, the Canes should take this one by as many as double digits.
Arizona State at Colorado (-13), Saturday, October 15, 2016 8:00 PM ET
Pick: Arizona State (+13)
Don’t look now, but the flying-under-the-radar Sun Devils are perched atop the Pac-12 South division in a three-way tie with Utah and Colorado, riding hot on the sure legs of the nation’s best kicker in Zane Gonzales, an offense that finds ways of making plays despite being down to quarterback No. 4 due to injuries, and a defense that has been on the up-swing with big plays lately. The Buffaloes, meanwhile, are coming off a let-down performance at USC, and are hoping to bounce back with a win over Arizona State. The problem, though, is that the Sun Devils have owned the Buffs, winning 7 straight vs. Colorado dating back to 2006 and going 6-1 ATS in the process. So, even with Arizona State having concerns at QB, we believe that the Sun Devils will play well enough to cover the spread against the Buffalos, who are seemingly still struggling when it comes to playing well against top-tier in-conference opponents.
