While college football fans and betting enthusiasts everywhere are about to get their wish with the return of collegiate gridiron action set to make its return in a mere matter of weeks, make no mistake about it, when the 2020 college football season does get underway, it will be a campaign unlike any other! With the coronavirus pandemic still unchecked and growing nationwide in the U.S., all sports, both professional and collegiate, have been knocked completely off kilter. Still, when it comes to college football, there will be an upcoming season, though, how it all plays out in the end in still anyone’s guess. Let’s find out what’s planned for each of the Power Five conferences so you can plan ahead your bets against their NCAA odds.

NCAA Betting News – What to expect from The 2020 Football Season

ACC

The ACC will play a 10-game, conference only schedule with games tentatively set to begin the second week of September. The ACC will include FBS Independent Notre Dame in 2020, giving the conference 16 teams and includes room for one non-conference opponent. Ironically, the conference failed to schedule against Notre Dame in what has been one of the most entertaining rivalries in all of college football.

Big Ten

The 14-team, Big Ten was the first conference to go to an all-conference schedule in 2020 with six inter-division games and three cross-division matchups. Unfortunately, we won’t get to see huge non-conference clashes like Ohio State vs. Oregon or Wisconsin vs. Notre Dame.

Big 12

The 10-team, Big 12 will play a 10-game conference schedule with one non-conference opponent. The 10-team league already plays a nine-game conference schedule and will reportedly kick off its 2020 campaign on either September 19 or 26.

Pac-12

The 12-team, Pac-12 announced they would also go to a conference-only schedule in 2020 with their play set to get underway on September 26. Each team will play five home and five road games with the conference championship set to go down on either December 18 or 19.

SEC

The 14-team SEC is set to begin play on Sept. 26 with an all-conference schedule that will see its seven-team division format remain the same, but now, the perennially-powerful conference will play two more crossover games with its conference championship game set for December 19. Unfortunately, we won’t be treated to huge traditional non-conference clashes like Florida vs. Florida State, and South Carolina vs. Clemson.

Group of Five Conferences

Last, but not least, things are still up in the air for the Group of Five conferences (American Athletic, Mountain West, Conference USA, Sun Belt and Mid-American). Stay tuned for more on their potential 2020 schedules.

National Championship

Right now, there is no set plan to crown a national champion, although I suspect there will be one at some point I the near future. The fact of the matter is that the money is far too big for the NCAA not to have a national championship, so, stay tuned for more news on this matter.
