Week 7 in college football is sure to be one that goes down in infamy, as it featured a host of ranked teams losing to unranked opponents. The biggest loss of the week had to be Clemson going down to Syracuse in a Friday night shocker. That game seemed to set the tone for the week, with Auburn, Washington, and Washington State all falling, which is why the NCAAF betting odds for Week 8 can be hard to interpret. With that many top 10 teams losing in a single weekend, the playoff picture became a good deal clearer, but with a few weeks to play, we may not have seen the end of the surprises. We are not going to look too far ahead right now, though, and are instead going to focus on the latest College Football Odds and making some SU picks for Week 8.

Penn State Nittany Lions over Michigan Wolverines

NCAAF Betting Odds: Penn State -350 The biggest benefactors of all the madness last week had to be the Penn State Nittany Lions, as they moved up to #2 in the country without needing to play a game. They will be back in action this weekend and will have a tough home date with the Michigan Wolverines. While Michigan has struggled a little this season, which is not surprising when you consider how many great players to the NFL draft, they are still a very good team that cannot be taken lightly. I believe that Penn State is just too good, though, and I like them to get the job done at home.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish over USC Trojans

NCAAF Betting Odds: Notre Dame -180 Another big match-up between ranked opponents, and one that should be incredibly entertaining to watch. Both of these teams are still in the playoff hunt, but neither one can afford another loss, as that would almost certainly end their National Championship hopes. The USC Trojans have struggled at times this season and needed a late comeback to get the win last weekend. The Fighting Irish have rebounded nicely since losing to Georgia early in the season, and are a team riding some serious momentum. This should be a close on, but I like Notre Dame to pull it out.

Miami Hurricanes over Syracuse Orange

NCAAF Betting Odds: Miami -650 We had 4 top 10 teams lose in Week 7, and we came very close to seeing the Miami Hurricanes become number 5. They needed a last-second score against Georgia Tech to escape with the win in monsoon conditions in the second half. Miami is still very much alive in the playoff picture, but have a potential trip-up game ahead of them this coming Saturday. Miami will be hosting a Syracuse Orange team that is sure to still be riding on a serious high after knocking off Clemson last weekend. That was a big win for Syracuse, but I don’t see lightning striking twice, which is why I am going with the Hurricanes.

NCAAF Betting Odds: Michigan State -250 Michigan State is back in the top 25 after reeling off 3-straight wins, although it needs to be said that those victories have not really come in convincing fashion. The Spartans have another tricky match-up ahead of them this weekend, with the 3-3 Indiana Hoosiers coming to town. The Hoosiers put in a valiant effort versus the Michigan Wolverines last weekend, falling just short in the end. They could very well give the Spartans fits this weekend, and while I like Indiana to keep things close throughout, I think they will once again come up a little short.
