Why Bet On Washington’s NCAAF Odds?

The Huskies (8-1) control their destiny to reach the Pac-12 title game again and likely will return to the College Football Playoff if they win out. UW comes off a 38-3 rout of Oregon last Saturday. Dante Pettis became the NCAA’s all-time leader in punt return touchdowns (9) and had a 47-yard TD reception.  Browning threw for 204 yards, and his two TD passes tied Keith Price for the school record at 75. Gaskin rushed for 123 yards, including a 34-yard touchdown in the first half. Washington’s defense allowed its fewest amount of yards through the air (31) since Oct. 9, 2004 vs. San Jose State when they allowed 22 yards passing in their lone win of the season, 21-6. The Huskies earned their first victory over the Ducks in Seattle since 2003 and won consecutive games in the series for the first time since 2002-03. The three points scored by the Ducks were the fewest by either team in the series since the Huskies beat the Ducks 24-3 in 1992. The points were the fewest scored by the Ducks since they were shutout, 16-0, by UCLA on Nov. 24, 2007. The Huskies have now outscored opponents 111-16 in the third quarter and 96-19 in the second quarter. Washington leads the nation in total defense (240.9 ypg) and is No. 2 in scoring defense (11.1 ppg), No. 3 in pass defense (149.8 ypg) and No. 6 in rush defense (91.1). Since the arrival of coach Chris Petersen and his staff prior to the 2014 season, Washington has had five kickoff returns for touchdowns (four by John Ross and one by Keishawn Bierria) and nine punt returns for TDs (all by Pettis).

Why Bet On Stanford’s NCAAF Odds?

The Cardinal (6-3) fell out of the Top 25 with a 24-21 loss at Washington State. Snow started to fall heavily at the end of the first quarter. Stanford hadn’t played in snow since a 1936 game against Columbia in New York.  Heisman contender Bryce Love, slowed by an ankle injury, was held to 69 yards, his worst outing of the season for Stanford. He came in as the nation’s leading rusher, averaging 198 yards a game. Love’s 2,465 career rushing yards rank ninth all-time at Stanford. Tyler Gaffney is eighth with 2,500 yards, and Mike Mitchell is seventh with 2,550. Love’s 15 longest runs in 2017 total 812 yards. Only 33 players nationally — including Love — have more than 812 yards rushing on the season. Is Stanford a safe bet in Week 11? Redshirt freshman K.J. Costello will start again at QB for Stanford this week replacing Keller Chryst last week following a competition at practice. He struggled in the loss at Washington State, finishing 9-of-20 for 105 yards with no touchdowns and a late interception. Costello scrambled for a 14-yard touchdown run midway through the third quarter, but the offense failed to produce a first down on its final four possessions. Stanford finished with fewer than 200 yards offense. The last time an unranked Stanford team defeated a ranked Washington team at Stanford Stadium? It happened in 2009, when the Cardinal downed No. 24 Washington, 34-14. For the second straight week, Chris Owusu returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown while Toby Gerhart reached the 200-yard mark in rushing for the first time in his career. Head coach David Shaw has 70 career wins, one shy of matching the school record set by Glenn “Pop” Warner (71 from 1924-32). Stanford’s offensive line is allowing only 1.22 sacks/game, which ranks second among Pac-12 teams and 15th nationally. Stanford’s 1.11 turnover margin ranks first among Pac-12 teams and 10th nationally.
