My Analysis

Will it still be the usual names that make it to the Championship Game, or will we see a lower seeded team go on a run that takes them all the way to the big game. We are going to need to wait and see how it all plays out. Another change is in the conferences, with a ton of teams moving to new homes. In the Big 12, Texas and Oklahoma are gone, with Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, and Utah coming into to expand the conference to 16 teams. With that in mind, let’s take a look at some of the biggest games on the Big 12 schedule this coming season.

Utah Utes at Oklahoma State Cowboys

The Utes may be new to the conference, but the bookies already have them in as the favorite to win it. There are many fans and pundits who are of the belief that this game might well be a preview of the Conference Championship Game later in the season, but with this one coming so early in the season, it could well have an impact on the conference as a whole. This one is scheduled for September 21.

In college sports, there is nothing quite as fun as a rivalry game, with this one arguably the biggest in the conference now that Texas and Oklahoma are in the SEC. The Wildcats are among the favorites to win the Big 12, but the Jayhawks are not that far behind them in the eyes of the bookies. TCU is also on a run of 4 straight wins over their state rivals, but these meetings tend to be very close, with 5 of the last 6 meetings between these two teams decided by 10 points or less. This is one that Big 12 fans will almost certainly have circled on their calendar, with this matchup set to go on November 2.
