Series History
Georgia leads the all-time series, 17-6. This will be MSU’s first visit to Sanford Stadium since 2011. That year, the host Bulldogs registered a 24-10 victory for their 10th win in the last 11 meetings in the series. Georgia has won the last nine meetings over MSU in Athens. MSU last beat Georgia in 2010 (24-12) and that game was in Starkville. Never before have the schools squared off with both ranked in the Top 25. Georgia has faced Mississippi State fewer than any of the other original members still in the SEC. For State, Vanderbilt (22 meetings) is the lone school with that distinction.- Total Meetings:

Why Bet on Mississippi State?
MSU recorded its largest victory ever over No. 11 LSU, 37-7, last Saturday. It was also the Bulldogs’ second-biggest margin of victory over an AP ranked team since Oct. 17, 1942 (def. No. 11 Vanderbilt). QB Nick Fitzgerald accounted for four touchdowns, while Aeris Williams went over 100 yards rushing for the second straight game with 146 yards on 23 carries. Jeffery Simmons registered a career-best seven tackles and 1.5 sacks. The Bulldogs scored on seven straight possessions and held LSU to 3-of-13 on third down. Fitzgerald has accounted for 55 career touchdowns – 31 passing, 24 rushing – which is second in school history behind only Dak Prescott (114). Since Oct. 29 of last season, Fitzgerald leads the nation in TDs responsible (36). Fitzgerald has rushed for at least one TD in the last six games and he has 13 rushing TDs during that streak. He leads the SEC in TDs responsible this season with 12 and he has accounted for at least three TDs in all three games this season. Fitzgerald played at Richmond Hill, just outside of Savannah, but Georgia didn’t think he had much of a future as a college quarterback. He badly wanted to play there. MSU is the only team in America that currently has a Top 10 scoring defense and scoring offense. MSU is No. 6 in scoring defense nationally, allowing only 9.3 ppg. The Bulldogs put up 47.7 ppg, which is ninth. Defensive coordinator Todd Grantham, a former UGA assistant, leads an MSU unit that is ranked in the top six nationally in four categories: total defense (4th), scoring defense (6th), passing defense (6th), pass eff. defense (8th).Team Statistics

Why Bet on Georgia?
The Dawgs (3-0) warmed up for this game with a 42-14 win over little Samford. Senior running back Nick Chubb rushed for 131 yards and two scores, freshman quarterback Jake Fromm hit 8-of-13 passes for 165 through the air. The Bulldogs, paced once again by Roquan Smith’s six tackles, held Samford to 249 yards of total offense. It was Chubb’s 19th career time with 100 or more yards, which ranks second in school history (Herschel Walker, 28). Chubb now has 33 career rushing touchdowns, which ties Garrison Hearst for fourth on the school’s all-time list. It was the 11th time in Chubb’s career that he has had two rushing touchdowns in the same game. After starter Jacob Eason went down with a knee injury in the first quarter versus App State in the season opener, Fromm has been at the controls of the Bulldog offense. He is 34-for-57 for 449 yards, 5 TDs and 1 INT. Fromm is only the seventh true freshman Bulldog quarterback to start a game, including just the second to do it on the road in his first career start. Georgia has had 13 plays that have covered 25 yards or more while its opponents have had 7. Running back Sony Michel was at practice this week. Michel missed the Samford game as a precautionary measure after injuring his ankle late against Notre Dame. Michel is likely to suit up and play against Mississippi State. Defensive tackle Tyler Clark and receiver Michael Chigbu were also back at practice. Both Clark and Chigbu missed Saturday’s win over Samford due to undisclosed injuries.Team Statistics
