Betting on the Central Florida Knights (0-11 SU, 2-9 ATS)

The Knights are coming off a resounding a 44-7 beatdown at the hands of East Carolina the last time out and never came close to covering the spread as a 16-point home underdog. Quarterback Justin Holman completed 9 of 17 passes for 110 yards with one touchdown and one interception, but the Knights allowed ECU signal-caller Blake Kemp to throw for 448 yards and four touchdowns in the loss while losing the turnover battle 3-0. Central Florida has been held to 10 points or less in three of their last four games while failing to score more than seven points in two of their last three games. The Knights are ranked a pitiful 125th in scoring (14.9 ppg) and equally disturbing 114th in points allowed (37.1 ppg).

Betting on the South Florida Bulls (7-4 SU, 8-2-1 ATS)

The Bulls have won three straight games including their 65-27 blowout of Cincinnati as a 1-point home favorite on Saturday. Quarterback Quinton Flowers completed 9 of 15 passes for 165 yards with four touchdowns and two interceptions while running back Marlon Mack rushed for 106 yards and one score on just 11 carries. Defensively, South Florida picked off four passes and recovered two forced fumbles. The Bulls are ranked 50th in scoring (32.5 ppg) and 40th in points allowed (22.7 ppg).

I couldn’t bring myself to bet on the Central Florida Knights with someone else’s money… that’s really how bad they are. South Florida has gone 6-1 SU and ATS in its last seven games and a consistent 4-2 ATS in its last six games on the road Conversely, Central Florida is 2-10 ATS in its last 12 games, 2-5 ATS in their last seven conference games and a winless 0-6 ATS in their last six home games. With South Florida going 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven conference games and 4-1 ATS in their last five games against a team with a losing record, I say it’s a foregone conclusion that the Bulls win and win going away.
