College Football 2017 Heisman Trophy Odds

With the 2017 NCAA football national championship now a thing of the past, collegiate pigskin betting enthusiasts everywhere are starting to look toward the new season and the betting opportunities that are now being offered. To that end, I’m going to offer up my expert look at the odds to win the 2017 Heisman Trophy as the most outstanding player in all of college football betting lines. Let’s get started.

    Last year’s winner of the award, Louisville’s Lamar Jackson, and the No. 3 finisher in the voting, Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield are both tied as co-favorites at +580 while USC Trojans’  quarterback Sam Darnold sits alone as the No. 2 favorite at +650. Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett sits alone as a +800 pick while Washington quarterback Jake Browning and Florida State signal-caller Deondre Francois are close behind on the odds list at +1000. Elusive Penn State running back Saquon Barkley is the top non-quarterback on the list at +1200 and is followed on the non-quarterback odds by Alabama running back Bo Scarborough at +1600. And, speaking of Rose Bowl performers, I also believe Penn State’s Saquon Barkley and Trace McSorley will also both have a great shot – if the Nittany Lions stay in contention for a playoff berth next season while Louisville’s Lamar Jackson will almost surely not win after unleashing a campaign for the ages a year ago that he will almost certainly not be able to duplicate or top. My No. 2 pick to win the 2017 Heisman Trophy is Oklahoma signal-caller Baker Mayfield with my third pick going to Florida State signal-caller Deondre Francois.
