College Football Bowls ATS Picks Second Round

College Football Bowls ATS Picks Second Round

Written by on December 20, 2016

We are in the final few days before Christmas, and that means that the bowl game calendar is full to brimming. This is good news for college football betting fans looking to get some action before the next round of games gets rolling on the 26 th of the month. We are going to take a look at 6 games that will take place between now and Christmas Day, and we are going to try and predict who will cover the spread in each of those games.

College Football Bowls ATS Picks Second Round

Poinsettia Bowl – BYU Cougars (-10) Vs Wyoming Cowboys

Double-digit spreads make me a little nervous in bowl games, as you often get teams that really want to be there going against teams that would sooner be at home. The Cowboys went 6-1 ATS as an underdog this season, and while that may be a bit of a red flag, I still like the Cougars to win this one comfortably whilst covering.

Boca Raton Bowl – Memphis Tigers vs Western Kentucky Hilltoppers (-7)

This week’s bowl action gets started on Tuesday night in Boca Raton, with the Memphis Tigers and the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers squaring off. There is one stat that really jumps off the page when you look at these two teams side by side. The Hilltoppers are 2-0 ATS when playing teams with a winning record this season, while the Tigers are just 1-5 ATS. Gotta go with Western Kentucky in this one.

Idaho Potato Bowl – Idaho Vandals Vs Colorado State Rams (-13)

Yet another one of those double-digit spreads that could prove to be a little tricky. The Rams are solid through the air, as well as on the ground, which may be tough for the Idaho Vandals to handle. I like the Rams to win and cover, but by the slightest of margins. I’m looking at a 14-point win here.

Bahamas Bowl – Eastern Michigan Eagles Vs Old Dominion Monarchs (-4)

Old Dominion finished the season with a 9-3 record, and are going against an Eastern Michigan team that was 7-5. The real stats here, though, are against the spread, where the Monarchs were a perfect 8- 0 as the favorite this season. I like the to win by a TD and go perfect ATS.

Armed Forces Bowl – Louisiana Tech Bulldogs (-6) Vs Navy Midshipmen

Navy finished their season on a real high, beating Army after years and years of futility against their rival. I think that carries over into this bowl game, and I think we have a definite upset possibility on the cards here. Not only do I think Navy will cover, I think they will win straight up, too.

Dollar General Bowl – Ohio Bobcats Vs Troy Trojans (-4)

Of all the games in this round of bowl action, I think this is the one that has the potential to be the closest matched. There is very little difference between these two programs, and I believe that this one is going to come down to a field goal. I like Troy to win, and Ohio to just cover the spread.
