College Football Bowls SU Picks Second Round

Written by on December 20, 2016

The college season may be starting to win down, but there are still several bowl games to be played before we get right down to the big games that really matter. This week gives us 6 games to wager on, and as we have already give out ATS predictions, it’s now time to turn to going with the straight up picks. With 6 games to choose from here, there are some opportunities to get some parlay plays in, so you may want to consider that when making your plays. Let’s look at who we think will come up big in this week’s bowl game action in college football betting.

College Football Bowls SU Picks Second Round

Boca Raton Bowl – Memphis Tigers vs Western Kentucky Hilltoppers (-7)

The first game of the week is set for Tuesday night, and it sees the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers in as a 7-point favorite versus the Memphis Tigers. The Tigers routinely struggled against teams with winning records this season, whereas the Hilltoppers covered the spread in their 2 games against those types of opponents. This should be a win for Western Kentucky.

Poinsettia Bowl – BYU Cougars (-10) Vs Wyoming Cowboys

The one thing that stands out when looking at the Wyoming Cowboys this season is how well that they did ATS when entering a game as the underdog. While going 6-1 ATS in those games is impressive, it’s no guarantee of a win. I think the BYU Cougars are going to win this one rather comfortably.

Idaho Potato Bowl – Idaho Vandals Vs Colorado State Rams (-13)

This is one where the double-digit spread seems to be very much warranted, as it appears to me that the Colorado State Rams are going to be just too much for Idaho. I like the Rams to not only win this one, but also to cover the spread.

Bahamas Bowl – Eastern Michigan Eagles Vs Old Dominion Monarchs (-4)

The Old Dominion Monarchs were dominant this season when entering games as the favorite, going 8-0 ATS in those match-ups. I see this as a relatively comfortable win for them, with a 7-10- point margin of victory the most likely.

Armed Forces Bowl – Louisiana Tech Bulldogs (-6) Vs Navy Midshipmen

It’s always good to try and pick out an underdog here and there, especially if you plan on going the parlay route. Navy ended their season with a memorable win over Army, and I think that momentum carries over into this one. I’m going with Navy to win.

Dollar General Bowl – Ohio Bobcats Vs Troy Trojans (-4)

This is the one game that I am not overly confident about, as I believe that this could come down to a last second field goal. I have gone back and forth on this one, but have decided that I am going to have to go with Troy. As mentioned earlier, there are several different ways that you could go with these picks, and I plan on playing a number of different parlays. I wish you good luck, whichever way you decide to play.
