Connecticut vs Cincinnati 2019 College Football Week 11 Lines & Prediction

Written by on November 6, 2019

One of the disadvantages of playing outside the Power 5 Conferences is that there is little reason to get excited about the release of the rankings by the college football playoff committee. Unless a change is made to the current format, such as expanding the number of playoff teams, this is always going to be the case. The fact of the matter, though, is that everyone knows this coming in, so it’s not as if we are surprised every year by the omission of teams from the Group of 5 Conferences. Still, these teams have a lot to pay for even if they are going to be in the postseason.

There are conference championships to be one, as well as a potential spot in one of the New Year’s 6 Bowl Games. The Cincinnati Bearcats are certainly in the hunt to win their conference and are currently ranked in the #20 spot. They will look to continue climbing when they welcome in the Connecticut Huskies this coming weekend. The Bearcats are a massive 35-point home favorite for this game, with the point total currently set at 55 ½.

Why bet on the Connecticut Huskies?

If I’m being totally honest, we are going to need to dig pretty deep to find a valid reason why putting your hard-earned money on the Connecticut Huskies might be a good idea. They are coming into Week 11 of the season with a 2-7 SU record and a defense that is allowing just shy of 40 PPG. Combine that with the fact that they are only managing to score 20 PPG and you can quickly see why they are not winning games one a regular basis.

Overall, the Huskies are now just 2-16 SU in their last 18 games, but to make matters even worse, they are now winless in their last 16 games versus opponents from the AAC. They are also 1-7 SU in their last 8 meetings with Cincinnati and 7-13 ATS in their last 20 games overall. Like I said, not a lot to like here.

Team Stats

Offense
  • Points per Game: 20.33
  • Passing Yards: 204.33
  • Rushing Yards: 136.22
  • Yards per Play: 5.02
Defense
  • Points per Game: 39.78
  • Passing Yards: 225.67
  • Rushing Yards: 219.89
  • Yards per Play: 6.93

Why bet on the Cincinnati Bearcats?

The Cincinnati Bearcats have an opportunity to represent their division in the AAC Conference Championship Game this season, as they are currently sitting on top with a perfect 4-0 conference record, as well as being 7-1 SU overall on the season. They come into this game as winners of 6-straight and you would certainly expect them to extend that streak against a UCONN team that is struggling badly right now.

The Bearcats are 4-0 in their own building this season and have won 8 of their last 10 meetings against the Huskies. The biggest question to answer here is whether they can cover a very big spread. They are 4-2 ATS in their last 6, but just 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games played in the month of November.

Team Stats

Offense
  • Points per Game: 28.57
  • Passing Yards: 210.43
  • Rushing Yards: 173.43
  • Yards per Play: 5.60
Defense
  • Points per Game: 20.43
  • Passing Yards: 206.00
  • Rushing Yards: 138.71
  • Yards per Play: 4.89

Expert Pick & Final Score Prediction for Connecticut vs Cincinnati

There is no doubt that the Cincinnati Bearcats are going to extend their win streak this weekend, but I also believe that they can cover the spread here, even though is it a big one.
