Jalen Hurts Will Win the Heisman, Making it Three in a Row for Oklahoma Quarterbacks
Former Alabama quarterback Jalen Hurts got benched in favor of Tua Tagovailoa last year. Yet, it was Hurts that helped the Crimson Tide beat the Georgia Bulldogs in the SEC Championship. That propelled the Tide to yet another College Football Playoff berth.
Oklahoma coach Lincoln Riley was so impressed with Hurts that he convinced the graduate transfer to head to Norman. Riley’s past two stud quarterbacks, Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray, won the Heisman.
Hurts is third choice at +500 right know to strike the most famous pose in college football. He’ll get it done, beating Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence and Tua for the hardware.
One of the Arizona Schools Will Win the Pac 12 South
USC, UCLA, and Utah will field good teams. But, both Arizona schools, U of A in Tucson and ASU in Tempe, will have improved big time from last season. Arizona gets the slight nod because of their offense. Arizona State will be no slouch, though. One of the two Zona schools upsets the SoCal squads and Utah.
Then That School Will Win the Pac 12 Championship Over the Oregon Ducks
The buzz around the Oregon Ducks is deafening. However, the Ducks have a tough schedule. They’re at Stanford, at Washington, at USC and at ASU. They should beat Washington and Stanford and win the Pac 12 North. They won’t beat either Arizona or Arizona State and win the Pac 12 Championship after the brutal campaign.Alabama, Clemson, and Oklahoma Will Make the College Football Playoff With Undefeated Records
Of the three, Oklahoma has the toughest schedule. The Sooners’ will have as great of an offense with Hurts under center as last season, though. Plus, the defense will be much, much better with Alex Grinch in charge.
Michigan Will Make the CFP with Only One Loss
The Wolverines figure to lose only a single game this season. It will be either early at Wisconsin or versus an undefeated Notre Dame team on Oct. 26. With only one loss, the Wolverines should make the College Football Playoff.
Ohio State Will Lose At Least 3 Games This Season
Unlike rival Michigan, the Buckeyes could go through a transition year in 2019. Urban Meyer has retired while they lost two of the best players to ever where a Buckeye uniform in quarterback Dwayne Haskins and defensive end Nick Bosa.
Ohio State battles Cincinnati on Sep. 7. That’s a potential loss. Other potential losses are at Nebraska, at Northwestern, versus Wisconsin, and at Michigan on Nov. 30. Then, depending on the bowl game, Ohio State could also lose that.
Florida Will Win the SEC East Over Georgia
It doesn’t get any bolder than this. Georgia is currently ranked third in the nation. They’ve been about as good as any team in the country not named Clemson or Alabama the past three seasons. But, 2019 is no cakewalk. The Bulldogs battle Tennessee, Auburn, and rival Georgia Tech on the road. They take on Florida on a neutral field and Texas A&M at home.
Dan Mullen’s Florida squad could step it up enough to win the SEC East. The Gators toughest road game is at LSU on Oct. 12.
Nebraska Will Battle Michigan in the Big Ten Championship
Nebraska should win the Big Ten West this season. The Cornhuskers have a more than manageable road schedule: Illinois, Minnesota, Purdue, and Maryland. Almost as important is that Adrian Martinez is a true Heisman Trophy contender. Scott Frost’s squad can get it done in 2019.
