In terms of a smart pick, we might need to look outside the current top 4, as either Michigan or Ohio will drop after they face one another in the final week of the season. A win by the Buckeyes in that one might well change everything and turn them into the smart pick. This is especially true when you consider that no team has won 3 straight championships since the 1930s.

Longshot

There is a batch of 1-loss teams vying for the top 4, and that is where the longshots to win it all are likely to come from. They are all on a very short leash, though, as one more loss between now and the end of the season will eliminate them from playoff contention.

Before we get to the 1-loss crew, we need to look at the Washington Huskies (+1100). Who remain outside the top 4 despite still being unbeaten. If they win out, they will get in, so if you like them to win it all, now is the time to wager on them.

I am not sold on the Alabama Crimson Tide (+900) this season, although a huge win over LSU this past weekend did make me stand up and take notice.
