You know it’s the holiday season when the college football bowl games roll around each year. This bowl season is going to be a little different than what we have seen before, though, as a couple of games have already been postponed. There are probably going to be more of those before all is said and done, especially if the pandemic worsens over the next few months or so. It would not be a surprise to see a few teams opt out and lessen the risk to their players and personnel. With that in mind, let’s jump right into action so you can plan ahead your bets against their NCAAF odds.
2020-21 College Football Bowl Schedule Analysis
With one more week left in the regular season, there are still a lot of spots to be filled in the upcoming bowl games. There are some games already set to go, with a handful of bowl games lines up starting on Monday Dec. 21. Between then and Christmas Eve, there will be 6 games played, starting with the Myrtle Beach Bowl, which will feature North Texas and Appalachian State. There will be a pair of games on the 22nd, starting with Famous Idaho Potato Bowl between Tulane and Nevada. We will also have UCF and BYU squaring off in the RoofClaim.com Boca Raton Bowl.
There are two more games on Wednesday, starting with the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl that will have Louisiana Tech and Georgia Southern going head-to-head. Later in the day, Memphis and FAU will battle it out in the Montgomery Bowl. The final bowl game before Christmas goes on the 24th, with Hawaii and Houston set to play in the New Mexico Bowl.
From that point forward, the games come thick and fast, but only one bowl game has been officially scheduled to this point. There will be one game on Christmas Day, but we have a full slate on the day after, with 6 games set to go on the 26th. The one game that has the teams filled in is the LendingTree Bowl on the 26th. That one features Western Kentucky and Georgia State.
From Monday the 2th through to the end of the year, there will be 10 more bowl games played, assuming they are all able to go off as planned. The biggest game of the year come on the first day of 2021. We will have 5 huge games on Jan. 1, which includes the college football playoff semi-finals. Those spots will all be filled after this weekend. That is the big battle right now, as we are all waiting to see who the college football playoff committee will choose to be in the final four. Given how things have gone this season, you have to say that the committee has their work cut out for them.
The final four bowl games of the year will go on Jan. 2, after which we will have the National Championship Game on Jan. 11. We will do our best to update you on all the matchups as the games start to fill in.
