The Bulldogs were consistently good under Mark Richt, but the knock on his teams was that they always came up short in the big games. Last year, the first under new head coach Kirby Smart, was a down year for the Dawgs, as Smart made the first moves in recruiting and setting up his system. It appears that his efforts have paid off, as the Bulldogs look like a legitimate contender. They have had two massive games this season, and have delivered the goods in both, winning on the road at Notre Dame in Week 2, and then destroying Mississippi State between the hedges last weekend. The Georgia defense looks totally dominant, and sophomore QB Jake Fromm, who was asked to step in after Jacob Eason went down in Week 1, is becoming more comfortable with each passing week. Georgia is 3-1 ATS this season, and while they have lost back to back games against the Volunteers, they are certainly favorites to break out of that winless streak. Prior to those two losses, Georgia had won 5 in a row versus Tennessee.Team Statistics

Tennessee may be coming into this game with a 3-1 record, but all is not well in Knoxville. Fans are becoming increasingly dissatisfied with coach Butch Jones and their team, with the breaking point coming in a 17-13 win over a much inferior Massachusetts Minutemen last weekend. The coach seems unable to settle on a starter at the QB position, and it can be argued that the efficiency of the offense has been hampered because of this. The Vols will once again likely lean on John Kelly and the running game, but how much joy will they get against a Georgia D that has been suffocating through the first 4 weeks? The good news for the Volunteers is that they have won their last 5 home games, and are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings with the Bulldogs. Of the last 9 meetings between these two, the OVER has come up 6 times.Team Statistics
