A big part of being able to win on a consistent basis in any sport is having the ability to stay focused when distractions are swirling all around the team. In the case of the Houston Cougars, it is their success that is leading to those possible distractions. Head coach Tom Herman has done an incredible job there, and it has not gone unnoticed by some of the bigger college football programs. There is already a rather gaping vacancy at LSU, and you can bet that some more heads are going to fall at established programs before this season is over. Herman’s name is going to be attached to all of those openings, but the word out of Houston is that all of these rumors are being severely downplayed by the coach, his staff, and the team as a whole. They certainly look to still have their eyes on the prize, as they have been one of the most consistent teams in college football through the opening 5 weeks of the season.
