Independent Conference 2016 College Football Odds Analysis

College Football is pretty much wrapped up around it’s conferences. The teams that are not in a conference have lowered down to 3 total now. The three that are not in a conference are known as independents. While they do not have NCAA Football odds to win a conference, they still all have odds to win the national title.

Reviewing the Independent Conference 2016 Season College Football Odds Analysis

Notre Dame 18/1

Last season, the Fighting Irish had a ton of injuries. Now, the Fighting Irish are looking to replace guys that have left for the National Football League. Coach Kelly will have his team in the playoff discussion again due to their schedule, and their recruiting. The Fighting Irish will start DeShone Kizer at quarterback, and his running backs will be a mixture of Josh Adams and Tarean Folson. The defense should be pretty solid all around, as they typically are for a Fighting Irish team. Notre Dame starts the season with a tough game at Texas, but then plays numerous winnable games, before hosting both Stanford and Miami. The Fighting Irish wrap up their season with a road game at USC. With that schedule, the Fighting Irish at 18/1 to win the national title is NOT a bad bet.

Brigham Young 300/1

Kilani Sitake and the Cougars will start the season with three straight teams out of the Pac-12, and then a Big 12 team. The Cougars do not have an easy slate, and will have a tough time even being a bowl eligible team. Brigham Young will like their coach, but it’s going to take some time to get his stamp on the program. Taysom Hill is the starting quarterback, but certainly has some questions about him as well. The Broncos will be playing a new defensive style, which will eventually mold into the 4-3. The wildcard for Brigham Young is going to be their running back. If Jamaal Williams can have a monster season, certainly the Broncos will be a formidable opponent.

Army 2000/1

The Academy will be anchored by head coach Jeff Moncken, who is starting his third season. The team was 2-10 a season ago, but signs are heading the right way. Quarterback Chris Carter is going to be an impressive player. The team is still in rebuilding mode, but things are heading that direction. The defense must improve, as they have been giving up points early and often the past couple seasons. Obviously, Army is not going to win a national title, so taking them at 2000/1 is nothing more than throwing away money. But, look for Army to be improved in 2016. There you go. Those are the three Independent teams left in college football. There are their odds to winning the national title. It would be a shock if any of these teams besides the Fighting Irish had any chance at all of winning the national title. Best of luck!
