Saturday is full of College Football bowl games. One of the games is the Las Vegas Bowl. The Utah Utes and Northwestern Wildcats will meet up in that one, in a battle of the Pac-12 against the Big 10.
The Utah Utes are 8-4 on the season, and finished fifth in the Pac-12. The Utes won their season finale 23-17 over Deion Sanders and his Colorado Buffaloes. The Utes are coming off a trip to the Rose Bowl a season ago.
For Northwestern, a team that many projected to not win a game all season, saw them finish with a 7-5 record. The Wildcats finished second to Iowa in the Big Ten – West. Northwestern won their final three games, including a rivalry win over Illinois.
The Utah Utes are -6.5 over the Northwestern Wildcats in this game. Utah and Northwestern have a combined total for this game of 41.5.
The Utah Utes are the favorites in the NCAAF odds in this game as they are listed at -6.5. The total for this affair is set at 42 points.

Utah Utes Head to Vegas
For the Utah Utes, they certainly will have the “home” advantage coming from closer than the boys from Chicago. The Utes, led by head coach Kyle Whittingham have always been known as one of the best coached teams in College Football. The Utes started this season with wins over Florida and Baylor, along with Weber State and UCLA.
Utah lost at Oregon State, and then three weeks later at USC. That basically ended their Pac-12 hopes, but then two out of three losses at Washington and Arizona to finish the season made them 8-4 overall. The Utes in their four losses allowed 133 points. In their 8 wins, they allowed a total of 104.
On the offensive side, the Utes saw Devaughn Vale lead the charge. He caught 43 passes for 593 yards and 3 touchdowns. The bad news is – he will not play in this game, as he declared for the NFL Draft. Next up in the receiving game for the Utes will be Money Parks. Parks had a nice season, but ended poorly with just one catch in the win over Colorado.
Northwestern Happy to Be Playing
There was not team with more “excuses” to be poor this season than the Northwestern Wildcats. Just before the start of the season, firing Pat Fitzgerald, the long time head coach had players and coaches searching for answers. But, David Braun came in and was terrific, along with his staff getting them to 7-5.
The Wildcats do nothing great. But, they also do nothing poorly. Northwestern scored 22.8 points per game, and allowed 23.8. The Wildcats won seven games; with five of them coming within one possession. Even their final two losses; at Nebraska and with Iowa were a possession game.
The Wildcats receiver Cam Johnson led the way in the win over Illinois. He caught 7 passes for 124 yards and a touchdown. He expects to have a chance for a big game, but against a tougher Utah defense in this one in Vegas. The running game for Northwestern was powered by Cam Porter. He had two touchdowns late in the season in a win over Purdue.
Utah Tops Northwestern
Both teams come into this game well coached. Both teams are going to be happy to be going to Las Vegas just before Christmas and playing one more game. The talent gap is pretty significant here. While Utah is not an “elite” team by any means, they are better than the Wildcats. Northwestern is going to play hard, but fall short. Utah wins this game in Las Vegas. Bet the Utes -6.5 over the Wildcats.

Who is Playing in the Las Vegas Bowl? | Florida Gators versus Oregon State Betting Preview
Once this season is finally over and done with, we will have one more year of the status quo before big changes come in the 2024 season. Some conferences are doing away with divisions, while also seeing teams heading to new conference homes, but it is the change to the playoffs that is the biggest deal of them all. When the 2024 season rolls around, we will make the switch to a 12-team playoff, a move that has been on the cards for several years now. How that impacts bowl season as a whole remains to be seen, so for now, all we can do is focus on the present. Bowl season is upon us, with the action starting a few short days. We are going to do all we can to cover as many of the games as possible. For this one, we are looking at the Las Vegas Bowl, which will be played at Allegiant Stadium in Sin City at 2:30 PM EST on December 17. Florida and Oregon State will meet in this one, with the Beavers a 10-point favorite and the point total set at 52 ½. That being said, it’s time to have a closer look at both teams and how they arrive to this matchup so you can bet against their College Football Bowl Odds.
Florida Gators
It was a season of change for the Florida Gators, who brought in Bill Napier to replace Dan Mullen, who was fired at the tail end of last season. It takes time for a college coach to start recruiting the players he wants to play in the system put in place, and it was certainly a trying first season for Napier, who saw his team finish at 6-6, which is well off the pace of what Gators fans expect from their team. The Gators got off to a promising start, taking out a ranked Utah team in the opening week of the season, but they were unable to find the level of consistency needed to make a run at a championship. They ended up going just 3-5 in the SEC, which will not cut it when playing in the same division as Georgia. Florida went 7-5 ATS this season and saw the OVER hit in 7 of their 12 games.
Oregon State Beavers
The Beavers had a bit of a rollercoaster ride this season, going through hot periods of play and a couple of downturns. They made it look easy against lesser opposition to get to 3-0 on the season, but then ended up taking back-to-back losses against ranked Utah and USC. They righted the ship and won 3 in a row after that before losing to Washington in an absolute season killer. They could have easily gone into the hole after that, but the Beavers finished strong, reeling off 3 in a row to close out the season. They will be coming into this one with the goal of making it double-digit wins in 2022. The Oregon State Beavers averaged roughly 32 PPG and surrendered a touch over 21 PPG, so pretty well rounded. They were an impressive 10-2 ATS and 7-5 O/U.
Betting and Prediction
The Beavers are a pretty solid favorite for this one, although I have to say that the 10-point spread makes me a little nervous. I would be inclined to go with the Gators to keep things a little closer, although I do like Oregon State to win. The wager that I’ll be going with here is the OVER, as I think we are looking at a potential shootout.

Why Bet on Wisconsin versus Arizona State?
The Badgers flubbed against Minnesota. But after watching Minnesota easily handle West Virginia in their bowl game, it’s obvious why. Wisconsin still sends the top defense in college football to the field. The Badgers allow an NCAAF best 241.4 total yards per game. ASU will find it difficult to move the ball 3 yards per play.

- Over is 7-1 in the Badgers’ last 8 neutral site games as a favorite
Las Vegas Bowl Final Betting Prediction
Arizona State imploded in the second half of the season while the Wisconsin Badgers put themselves in a position to play in the Big Ten Championship. The reason the Badgers didn’t get to play for the conference title is that they lost to the Gophers in their final regular season game.
Neither team will be one-hundred percent going into this. But Wisconsin looks deeper on both sides of the ball. Not only that, but the Badgers’ style should work in their favor.
Also, ASU’s defense, although decent, allows over 131 rushing yards. Wisconsin’s offensive line, even if it’s missing a couple of key players, and running back Braelon Allen should dominate. Badgers win and cover.
