Maryland vs Ohio State Odds and Betting Prediction for the Week 6 Game

The Maryland Terrapins and Ohio State Buckeyes will match up on Saturday in one of the unbeaten matchups in Week 6. The Maryland Terrapins are a perfect 5-0 on the season and will battle the 4-0 Ohio State Buckeyes.

Maryland is coming off a 44-17 blowout win at home over the Indiana Hoosiers. The Terrapins are 2-0 in Big Ten play coming into this game. They took last week off for Ohio State to recover from the big win over Notre Dame in the game’s final seconds. The Buckeyes are 1-0 in conference play after beating Indiana on the road in the season opener.

The Ohio State Buckeyes are big favorites at home in this game. You can grab Ohio State at -20, with 56.5 points as the total.

Buckeyes Well Rounded

The Ohio State, led by head coach Ryan Day, is one of the most well-rounded teams in all of College Football. The Buckeyes are elite on the defensive side of the ball. Ohio State has allowed just 8.5 points per game. The Ohio State defense has not allowed over two touchdowns in a game all season.

On the offensive side, the Buckeyes are passing for nearly 300 yards per game. That’s in the Top 20 in the nation. Kyle McCord has come in and taken charge of the offense. This is an offense full of firepower. TreVeyon Henderson is one of the most electric running backs in the nation.

Henderson has 44 carries, 295 yards, and five touchdowns so far. Marvin Harrison Jr. will be one of the top picks in the NFL Draft, and he is also off to a great start. He has 17 receptions and 336 yards, with three scores.

Terrapins With Backs to the Wall

The Maryland Terrapins already know they have their back to the wall in this game. The Terrapins are not getting a ton of attention through five games, but the Buckeyes know they are dangerous.

Quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa has been outstanding so far in 2023. The signal-caller has thrown for 1,464 yards and 13 touchdowns. Jeshaun Jones is his top target, with 19 receptions, 319 yards and two touchdowns.

The Terrapins are averaging just shy of 300 passing yards per game and an additional 157.4 on the ground. Roman Hemby leads the rushing attack with 309 yards per game.

The Terrapins on the defensive side are allowing just 13.2 points per game. In fact, much like Ohio State, Maryland has not let an opponent score over 20 in a game yet. But wins over Towson, Charlotte, Virginia, Michigan State, and Indiana certainly do not scream powerhouse.

Maryland will head home after this game and host the Fighting Illini of Illinois. After that, they have their bye week before going on the road to Northwestern to wrap up the month of October action.

Maryland vs. Ohio State Betting Prediction | Buckeyes Too Much for Terrapins

It’s been a fun ride for the Maryland Terrapins in 2023. And Maryland is still going to have a nice season. The Terrapins are still likely to win as many as eight, maybe even nine games this season. But this is not one.

This is where the line is drawn. A win here would be massive and likely set them up to be 8-0 heading into November against Penn State. But the Ohio State Buckeyes have different plans. This is a great chance for Ohio State to start the month of Big Ten action on the right foot.

Take the Ohio State Buckeyes -20 as they win by three touchdowns over the Terrapins.
