While the entire college football season is always a ton of fun to watch, it’s the final few weeks where things tend to reach a fever pitch. We are in the final two weeks of the regular season, with the jostling for positions and playoff spots still going strong. Those two weeks will be followed by Conference Championship Weekend, where the task for the playoff committee just might become that much more difficult. Outside of the playoffs and the Power 5, there are still some fabulous battles going on in the races to be part of the Conference Championship action.
There are a few conferences that have already been decided, but there are some that are still hanging in the balance. One of the best battles right now is taking place in the AAC, especially in the West Division, where we have a 3-team logjam currently taking place. The Memphis Tigers are in that group and need to win this weekend to keep their Conference Championship hopes alive. They will head to Tampa to face the USF Bulls as a 14 ½ point road favorite. The point total for this one has been set at 59 ½.

Why bet on the Memphis Tigers?
In all the conversation about the possible expansion of the playoffs, it is the AAC that is very often used as the example of good teams being left out. This season, the AAC has no less than 3 teams sitting at 9-1 on the year, but none of them are going to get anywhere near the playoffs. One of those teams is the Memphis Tigers, who are currently sitting at the top of the West Division. They are in a real battle there, though, as they are 1 of 3 teams with a 5-1 conference record. This is a must win game for the Tigers especially with the Cincinnati Bearcats, the leaders in the East, on the schedule for next week. Memphis are 5-4 SU in their last 11 meetings with USF, but they are a perfect 11-0 in their last 11 games played in the month of November.

Why bet on the USF Bulls?
The USF Bulls are 4-6 this season, but they are just 4-12 SU in their last 16 games stretching back into last season. Trying to find reasons to like this team as a valid wagering option is not particularly easy, especially when you consider that their home form has also been an issue. This is a team that has gone just 2-6 SU in their last 8 games at home. Overall, they are just 2-9 SU in their last 11 games against teams from the AAC Conference. They have been a decent bet against the spread, though, going 6-3 ATS in their last 9 games. They are also 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games played in Week 13 of the season.

Expert Pick & Final Score Prediction for Memphis vs USF
The Memphis Tigers offense has been on fire this season, so I find it hard to believe that the Bulls are going to be able to hang in a game that could quickly turn into a track meet. I am on the Tigers to win and cover the spread.Score: Memphis Tigers 42 – USF Bulls 20
