Every Power 5 Conference has that one team that the rest of the pack always seem to be chasing. In the SEC, it’s Alabama, while Ohio State are the kings of the Big Ten and the Clemson Tigers rule the roost in the ACC. Winning the conference and getting to the playoffs usually means having to go through those teams, and when you see how dominant that lot have been, you get an idea of the task at hand for the chasing pack.
In the ACC, the Miami Hurricanes have been turning things around over the past couple of seasons, yet they are still swimming in the wake of the Clemson Tigers. They lost to the Tigers in a big way in last season’s ACC Championship Game and are already off the pace this season having lost one game while Clemson remains unbeaten.
For Miami, it’s all about winning the division and getting another shot at the conference crown. They will look to keep their positive run going with a trip to Virginia this weekend to face the Cavaliers. Miami are in as a 7-point favorite, with the point total set at 47 ½.Miami vs Virginia NCAA Football Week 7 Spread & Preview

Why bet on the Miami Hurricanes?
The Hurricanes ended last season on a bit of a low note. So, it was easy to understand the concern when they were soundly beaten in Week 1 by LSU. Those worries now seem to be totally unfounded, as Miami have reeled off 5 straight wins, including an epic come from behind victory over their biggest rivals, the Florida State Seminoles.
The good news for the Hurricanes is that they remain unbeaten in conference play, which is probably what they are going to need if they are to get that rematch with the Clemson Tigers in the ACC Conference Championship Game. Next up is a road trip to face the Cavaliers as a 7-point favorite.
The Hurricanes are 3-3 ATS this season and have not done particularly well in Charlottesville, going 2-4 SU in their last 6 visits and just 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall against the Cavaliers. That said, they are still 6-3 SU on the road in their last 9.

Why bet on the Virginia Cavaliers?
The Cavaliers come into this one with a 3-2 record on the season and will be looking to rebound from a 35-21 loss to NC State last weekend. That loss was actually the first time that Virginia had failed to cover the spread this season, but it’s also perhaps not that surprising given that they are now 3-4 ATS when going into a game as the underdog.
While the Cavaliers have been good at home versus Miami, they are still just 1-4 SU in their last 5 meetings overall. Their best betting option here would appear to be against the spread, as they have covered in 4 of their last 5 games at home. 5 of the last 6 meetings between these two teams in Virginia has gone UNDER.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction for Miami vs Virginia
I am still not totally sold on the Hurricanes this season, but I do like them to get the win here and I expect them to cover in the process. I will also be playing the UNDER in this one.
