Written by on July 24, 2017

As we wait for the college football season to get underway, we have time to look ahead to some of the bigger games in each week of the season. For this piece, we are going to be taking a look at Week 5, which is actually pretty slim in terms of huge match-ups, but which does have more than a few potential slip-up games for the top teams. It’s probably a little too early to start making big predictions, but what we can do is point out some games that should definitely be on your betting radar in Week 5 of the college football season. The game that we are going to start out with is a match-up that delivered a memorable game last season. Find out more about the latest NCAAF betting predictions here.

A Closer Look At The Must Bet Games in College Football Season During Week 5

Clemson Tigers at Virginia Tech Hokies

The Clemson Tigers will be out to defend their crown this season, minus a few of the players who got them there, and they will have a very tough match-up in Week 5 on the road to Virginia Tech. These two teams last hooked up in the ACC Championship Game last college football season, and it almost ended in a result that could well have put Clemson’s playoff bid into some dispute. It was a game for the ages, and one that the Tigers eventually pulled out 42-35. If this one is even half as good as that last meeting, then we are in for a real treat.

Georgia Bulldogs at Tennessee Volunteers

The general consensus is that the Georgia Bulldogs are the team to beat in the SEC East this season, but they have a few potential slip-up games to overcome this season before they can claim that crown. This Week 5 NCAAF match-up looks as though it could well be one of them. The Volunteers are expected to take a bit of a step back this college football season, but they are always tough to beat in their own building. The Bulldogs will be looking to exact some revenge on a Volunteers team that went into Sanford Stadium last season and beat the Dawgs with a Hail Mary TD with time running out.

North Carolina Tar Heels at Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

While neither of these teams figure to be in the playoff picture, both will feel that they might have a shot at the ACC Coastal Division. Both teams will need to improve over last season, and it’s worth remembering that the Yellow Jackets closed things out with 4-straight wins, which may be a sign that they are ready to make a run this year. Divisional match-ups are always intense, and if either of these two are to make a run at Miami, this is a game that should be considered a must win. In a week devoid of a real glamor game, this might well be the one to watch. There is a lot of talk that the USC Trojans are good enough to make the playoffs this College Football season,

USC Trojans at Washington State Cougars

There is a lot of talk that the USC Trojans are good enough to make the playoffs this college football season, but overcoming the hype is never easy. This game is certainly one of the toughest that the Trojans are going to see on their schedule, and we should make you aware that this is a Friday night tilt, so plan your weekend accordingly. The Cougars are once again going to be chucking the ball all over the football field, making this a stern test for the USC defense. If the Trojans can survive this one, it may just set them up nicely for the rest of the season.

Oklahoma State Cowboys at Texas Tech Red Raiders

The Cowboys are coming of a 10-3 season in 2016, and if you had to ask them what their toughest win was last year, most would probably agree that it was their 45-44 win over the Texas Tech Red Raiders. These are two teams that love to play an offensive style of football, so we can almost certainly expect to see some fireworks in this game. It is going to be interesting to see what the bookies choose as the point total for this one. Whatever it may be, give the OVER a look.
