Ohio State At Wisconsin Week 7 College Football Free Picks

Written by on October 12, 2016

In what may very well be a preview of the 2016-17 Big Ten Championship game, the yet-to-be-defeated #2 Ohio State Buckeyes (5-0) will be clashing against the one-loss #8 Wisconsin Badgers (4-1) in a highly-anticipated conference matchup this Saturday. Y’all already know what it is; it will be a total bloodbath in Madison, so let’s skip the niceties and jump straight to real gist of the matter—a preview of what you can expect in this game’s college football betting lines.

In Depth Analysis On The Buckeyes At Badgers Week 7 College Football Free Picks

Where: Camp Randall Stadium, Madison, Wisconsin When: Saturday, October 15, 8:00 PM ET TV: ABC NCAAF Lines: Ohio State (-10), OVER/UNDER 44

Why Bet on Ohio State

The biggest advantage for the Ohio State Buckeyes in this game is that they’ve been utterly dominant in every phase of the game this season, ranking in the nation’s top-5 on nearly every important statistical category you can think of. And after acing all their games this season by double-digit wins, including the trip to Norman against last year’s CFP’s semifinalists Oklahoma; handling the trip to Wisconsin should not be that big a deal. It doesn’t hurt either that the OU’s stellar defense will be facing an inexperienced QB in Alex Hornibrook, a redshirt freshman who completed just 9 of 25 passes for 88 yards with one touchdown and three interceptions in a loss at No. 4 Michigan barely two weeks ago. With the nation’s leader in interceptions, Malik Hooker, and his gang taking care of Hornibrook in his third collegiate start, and quarterback J.T. Barrett continuing to do his thing in the offense; it goes without saying that the Badgers will be having a baptism of fire this weekend.

Why Bet on Wisconsin

Hornibrook certainly had a rough time when he faced the Wolverines in his team’s lone loss of the season, but the young quarterback did have a good-enough performance in the victory against Michigan State a week before the Oct. 1st meeting against the Wolverines. The QB can therefore take confidence from the good show against the Spartans, along with the motivation that he and his teammates will be playing at home this week. Not to forget, the Badgers had a bye last week, so they should be extra-rested than the Buckeyes who were in action in a physically-draining game against the Indiana Hoosiers last Saturday. Plus, if the Badgers lost by just 7-points at Michigan (and held the high-scoring Wolverines to just 14 total point), then hanging tight at home and even delivering an upset should be possible, right?

Expert NCAAF Pick and Predictions

The Badgers are a really improved team from the unit they were last season and I expect them to give a commendably strong effort in front of their home fans. But the reality is that the Buckeyes can do everything twice as better as the Badgers, and Barrett is in an entirely different galaxy compared to his inexperienced opposite in Hornibrook. Add to the fact that the Bucks have owned the Badgers in recent seasons, going 4-0 SU and ATS in their last four meetings vs. Wisconsin; I can confidently see a clear win plus cover by Ohio State this Saturday.

Final Score Prediction: Ohio State 31, Wisconsin 18

Writer’s NCAAF Pick: Ohio State (-10)
