Oregon State vs Ohio State NCAA Football Week 1 Odds

When: Saturday, Sept. 1 at 12:00 pm ET Where: Ohio Stadium, Columbus, OH Radio: TuneIn Live Stream: WatchESPN ATS Odds: Ohio State -37 ½ (-110) Over/Under Total Odds: 64 ½ (-110)

Why Oregon State’s a good bet at +37 ½?

The Beavers can’t be any worse this season than last season. Oregon State averaged 20.7 points per game while allowing 43 points per. Oregon State allowed 473 yards per matchup. The only team Oregon State beat last season on the way to a 1-11 SU record was Portland State. The Beavers were -26.5 favorites. They managed to barely beat Portland State a Division II team, 35 to 32. Among Oregon State’s gems was a 14-48 loss to Minnesota, and a 10-69 loss to Oregon. Unless the Beavers miraculously became the Oregon Ducks, the Buckeyes will crush them on Sept. 1. But…crushing a team doesn’t necessarily mean a cover against the spread. This experienced Oregon State squad gets 37 ½ points to work with.

Why Ohio State’s a good bet at -37 ½?

Are the Bucketes a safe bet in NCAA Football Week 1? Urban Meyer’s situation notwithstanding, Ohio State should field one of the top defenses in the nation. Even if it’s one off the top defenses in the Big Ten, the Buckeyes should hold Oregon State’s offense to 3 to 6 points. Meyer loaded up the offense like he does every off season. Ohio State’s skill players are young. They’re not young enough to blow it versus a team like Oregon State. 37 ½ points is a lot. Ohio State could cover because their team is vastly superior to Oregon State’s.

Oregon State vs Ohio State Final Analysis & Pick: Back Oregon State at +37 ½

Ohio State went 7-7 ATS last season. The Buckeyes covered versus Indiana in Week 1. They didn’t cover in either Week 2, or Week 3, or Week 4 against Oklahoma, Army, and UNLV. The non-cover versus UNLV is the best example of what should happen versus Oregon State on September 1. The much better team, Ohio State, plays with untested skill players. Also, the key for every team in college football is the offensive line. Ohio State’s offensive line doesn’t have the same experience as last season’s team. Due to this summer’s drama, the Buckeyes might settle for a 28-point victory. Even a 35-point victory is an ATS loss on Ohio State. I’m taking the points. NCAA Football Betting Pick: Oregon +37 ½
