It’s time now to start thinking about Week 4, which is not that difficult to do when you consider some of the massive games that are on the schedule this weekend. We are talking about games that are going to have an impact on both the conferences and the overall playoff picture. I guess you didn’t have to wait too long to see that we do indeed have one of the biggest games of the weekend in with our picks. Clemson are already on the brink of being out of playoff contention after losing to Duke in Week 1, and while a win here would not erase that memory, it would go a long way toward getting the Playoff Committee back on their side. The Seminoles are a perfect 3-0 to start the season, but they are coming off a close call against Boston College. 5 of the last 6 meetings between these teams have gone OVER, and the Seminoles have seen each of their last 6 games go the same route.

#18 Duke Blue Devils at UConn Huskies

As we mentioned in the previous game, Duke saw their season get off to an unexpected winning start with a surprise victory over Clemson. Rather than resting on their laurels, they have continued to roll and come into this weekend at 3-0. On the flipside, you have the Huskies still looking for their first win of the season, which means that they have now lost 5 in a row if you look back at the end of last season. This is a team that has managed just 28 points through their opening 3 games, so don’t expect much in the way of offense from them, which is just one of the reasons why I am leaning toward the UNDER in this one.

Arkansas Razorbacks at #12 LSU Tigers

Both of these teams are coming into Week 4 with a 2-1 record, with both losing games in a way that was unexpected. LSU opened with a tough one against Florida State, and while we all expected a great battle, it turned into a blowout win for the Seminoles. The Razorbacks got off to a great start and went into last weekend as an 8-point favorite against BYU, only to end up losing 38-31. These teams have a lot in common, including the fact that both have very much been trending toward the OVER of late. Combined, we have seen the OVER hit in 12 of the last 13 games with one of these teams involved.
