Through the opening 4 weeks of the college football season, I have gone 25-14 overall on my picks, a record that would be a whole lot better if it weren’t for some struggles betting the point total. To this point, I have gone 6-7 in O/U picks, which is definitely not good enough, especially when you consider that I’m 6-0 in ATS picks over the past 2 weeks. The goal now is to get the point total picks in line with the SU and ATS selections so that we can all start pocketing a little extra cash every weekend. As we head into Week 5, the picture is becoming a little clearer when looking at the national rankings, as we have a few teams who look as though they are going to be very tough to beat. Will any of those teams make it into our O/U picks for Week 5? Let’s take a look and see so you can get ready to bet against the NCAA Football Lines.
NCAAF Week 5 O/U Betting Picks | 2022 College Football Analysis
UTSA Roadrunners Vs Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders (OVER 63)
This season has been all about the upsets, and we saw another big one in Week 4, with Middle Tennessee laying a beating on the Miami Hurricanes. That’s quite the turnaround for a team that lost their opening game, and they are now on a 3-game win streak, with the OVER hitting in each of their last 2 outings. They have also seen 6 of their last 7 Friday night games go the way of the OVER, but that is perhaps not the most convincing trend to go with in this matchup. That has to go to UTSA, who have now seen 9 of their last 10 games go OVER the point total. Yes, the number here is big, but I think these two offenses are more than capable of taking this one OVER.
UAB Blazers at Rice Owls (OVER 51 ½)
This will be the first conference game for both of these teams, so you can bet that both are going to be coming out looking to get their Conference USA bid off to a solid start. UAB comes into this weekend with a 2-1 record, while the Rice Owls have split their first 4 games of the season. If you look at UAB, you see that they are very much trending on the UNDER, but I often think that it is the home team that holds the key in matchups. If that is indeed the case, then you need to consider that Rice has seen 4 of their last 5 at home go OVER, while also seeing each of their last 8 games overall go the same way. I’m on the OVER here.
San Diego State Aztecs Vs Boise State Broncos (UNDER 40)
Please keep in mind that this is also a Friday night game, so be sure to get your tickets in on time if you are playing along. Both of these teams have started the season at 2-2, so both will be looking to get above .500 and get their season on track. Wins and losses aside, we are looking at the point total here, and you have to say that everything points to the UNDER. The Boise State Broncos have seen 10 of their last 11 games overall go UNDER, while the UNDER has also hit in 8 of the last 12 that the San Diego State Aztecs have played in the month of September.
