Before you know it, we’ll be kicking off the 2021 college football season. Everyone is already making predictions on who will be in the College Football playoffs. Let’s take a look at some teams we think you can bet on to make it into the final four of College Football.
Which Are the Best Bets to Make for the 2021 College Football Playoffs?
Will the Tide Continue to Roll?
Nick Saban will be looking to win his second straight National Championship, and he will have a team built to do so. Alabama never seems to rebuild; they just reload. Even though the Crimson Tide lost a good portion of their offense from last year’s squad, so new offensive coordinator Bill O’Brien will have some work to do. O’Brien could be a little more conservative than former offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian. We’ll likely see more running in O’Brien’s offense.
Alabama had a great defense last season, but many think that this season’s unit could be one of the best ever under Nick Saban. If this is the case, it could be nearly impossible to stop Alabama’s quest for another national title. At +250, the Tide looks like a great bet to make the playoffs once again.
Looking for Revenge!
After getting knocked out of last year’s playoffs by the Ohio State Buckeyes, the Clemson Tigers will be back with a vengeance. Although Trevor Lawrence and Travis Etienne have left for the NFL, the Tigers will still have plenty of talent. Much like the Crimson Tide, the Tigers are always stocked full of talent. DJ Uiagalelei will take over for Lawrence under center, and will have a ton of talented players surrounding him. When Lawrence was out last season, Uiagalelei looked like a future Heisman candidate.
Defensively, the Tigers will be a force to be reckoned with. The defensive front could be the deepest group of linemen in the country, and the rest of the defensive unit will be full of great, difference-making athletes.
The Tigers are a +350 to make the playoffs. We think they’ll be one of the final four.
Can Anyone Stop the Buckeyes?
The Ohio State Buckeyes are once again the favorite to win the Big 10, and are one of the favorites to be in the College Football Playoffs. Like many of the other favorites to win this year’s championship, they lost a lot of talent from last year’s squad, but the Buckeyes will still be one of the most talented teams in the country. We’re not sure who’ll be under center when the season starts, but whoever replaces Justin Fields will have an arsenal full of weapons at his disposal. Ohio State will have one of, if not the best group of wide receivers in the country; they should be an entertaining offense to watch.
Ohio State comes in at +500 to make it to the playoffs. The play of whoever wins the starting quarterback job will be the key to whether or not the Buckeyes make it. We think that they’re too talented not to end up in the final four teams. Ryan Day will once again have his team playing for a shot at a national title.
